I think it would be wiser to wait another 2 weeks and ensure that it is a total recovery and he is ready for the games ahead that will define our season. The Knights game on paper should be a home win. It is highly likely it is going to be a heavy pitch with the rain predicted so Manly must play the basics well. We also have the short turn around and that is not ideal. I think we will win but it will be closer than people think.

I can live with that...

I just think that's it dangerous to assume we don't need him this week simply because it's the Knights. They have competed in most games this year and they lose touch around the 50 minute mark. If they compete on Friday and get their tales up and catch us on an off night, they can do what they did to Canberra and hold on and leave us embarrassed.

Tom trained really well this afternoon, ran well but at the cocktail event gave no indication that he was going to play Friday.
Jake T did not train but is good to go Friday.
Martin had a splint on tiger but is also good to play with fingers taped

Walker DCE Green all upbeat and after the 3 points

After the 3 points?

Some others at the function said that Tom himself reckons he is good to go and definitely playing on Friday.

I'm not saying this is what has happened, but its very easy to mis-diagnose an injury like Tom's. Its quite conceivable that what happened when he came down from Mead's tackle was that he severely jarred his leg which was bad enough to force him off the field for a couple of weeks. At 104 kg he's not exactly a lightweight and the weight (including Mead's 94 kg frame), plus the momentum of the tackle would have jarred the living crap out of him.

It's been teaming with rain since yesterday and it will continue through the game.
Plus it will be about 10 degrees on Friday night, not great for the ligaments and muscles.

Why risk another ACL on the boggy Brookie surface

Three more weeks till the Sharks game for Turbo to heal

A fit player is wasted on the sidelines
You don't get match fitness and form sitting on your ass
This is a close competition and points for and against will be critical at the end of the season
If Tom is fit then he should play !!!

Why is everyone saying dont rush him back? You know we have a medical department. A professional group of people that know 1000 times more than we would on injuries ect. They aint dumb enough to "rush" A player back who is not 100% ready to go. It's not 1983. Player welfare is top priority.

What are you saying, that trained medical staff might know a bit more than people commenting on an internet forum??

The Storm thrashed them without one of their best players, so we have no excuses for losing. Tom T or no Tom T.

I'm just worried complacency might kick in and the Knights will ambush us. We don't have the same clinical execution that the Storm do.

We may have not yet become clinical like the Strom
But .....
We are winning and are starting to reach our pinnacle !!!

Whilst I tend to agree, if they get their tales up it's a mute point anyway ;)

Notice Dean Ritchie is stating that Turbo will definitely start on Friday on FB.

Same medical staff kept Jorge on after the replay footage of the first tackle showed a ligament popping in his right knee.

Tom would be pushing for game time before the bye to put his hand up for Origin game 2.

Love his eagerness though, but nervous at the same time

A hairy assed trainer saying get up your right mate is a bit different to 2 weeks of treatment, specialist reports , MRI scans, and 2 weeks of observations like they have with Tom.
