Isn't it strange that Dessie's game plans when he had Snake, Killer, Skivvi, Gift, DCE, Foran et al were brilliant, ..... but they are sh1t or non existent now that he has lesser players.

Yet we expect Barrett to have a brilliant game plan with the motely, thrown together and changing backline he had this year.

WOW! I wonder if the quality of your halves and players have anything to do with implementing a game plan.

I watched the game live yesterday and it appeared that the dogs are too forward heavy and they were easily outrun by a very fast Penrith team. Dessies game plan is a bit out of date. The game is all about speed now. Something the dogs really lack and I am afraid we lack it too!

The Riffs game plan of getting tackled on the 5th inside the Dogs 10m was a master stroke. It gave the big Dog's forwards no time to grab a breather before having to run it up again. By the time the 2nd half came around the damage was done and the Dog's were roooted.

Agree, I thought the first time they did it " gee they ****ed that up" but then they kept doing it, and it was clearly part of their game plan.

I used to be a nudist but discovered there's a large variety of sharp, pointy, scratchy objects in this world.
I also discovered that some Silvertails are cheeky buggers so I put on a Manly jersey!

Spot on. It's why Melbourne are so tough to beat that pack of theirs may be big but they are tall and mobile, and their line speed in the forwards was amaz balls. Dogs are just a bit too heavy. The criticism Des is copping because the dogs game plan is a bit harsh.

Ball playing amongst the forwards has worked. This is the first year with the reduced interchange. Des adjusted by having the big forwards strip some weight and they were fitter this year. But that reduced interchange is having a bigger impact then Des anticipated. That's the reason the dogs stats are so bad after half time. The big forwards controlled the riff amazing to start with but they run out of puff.

We appear to have tried to recruit a South Sydney size Burgess pack after the bunnies won in 2014.

It's why I'm not happy with Jake at 13.

There was a brilliant moment when the Panthers scored in the first half. In the back of the shot (but close enough to) was a Dogs supporter with long blonde hair and way too much makeup. As the Penrith boys were celebrating, she gave them the death stare, took a deep breath and screamed at the top of her lungs. A four year old could have lip read it: **** YOU!!!!!!!!
It was so funny I called my partner in and replayed it another couple of times. Truly gold!

If you defend a kick and ground it in goal, you should be allowed to take the drop out as soon as your team is on side, just because the attacking team kick the ball away does not mean they should get so heavily rewarded with an easy restart.

Problem is, so many teams these days - Manly included - rely on the fifth tackle kick-and-hope as their main attacking option. I'd much prefer to see tries that are the result of clever passing and/or footwork.
