By the way , back on track somewhat , I was talking to a somewhat connected person at the footy last night who told me that Cleary had already resigned from the school and was planning on spending 6 months in Europe with his wife when approached by Penn.

Tim Cleary was appointed to stem the unacceptable spending the club was making. Appointed by Penn in desperation. Someone had to come in and curb the unacceptable spending and losses the club was making. Whilst Bozo was doing his thing with the players, financially the club was losing unacceptable money. Somebody had to take control managerially. The club was haemorrhaging internally.

But his appointment ruffled feathers for those who have been running the place over the last couple of years eg Zorba and Bozo (the real one).

Big decisions had to be made. Penn encouraged Cleary to make the appropriate decisions. Remember three years ago the club financially was close to breaking even.

Cleary evaluated the situation and made the tough calls. He assumed he was supported.

Your comments on Cleary and what he failed to achieve are really either ill informed (unlikely) or that you really are Zorba's Minister for Propaganda. That would be sad if that was true.
