Doesn`t Cleary have a 3 year contract?

Penns must love paying people to not work for them @

This could backfire bigly with Sponsors. :wondering:

Cleary would have a good, long term relationship with thousands of families on the Peninsula as the former Head of St Augustines

Manly Sea Eagles owner Scott Penn backs new CEO Tim Cleary in power struggle with Bob Fulton

I think if he resigned there wouldn't be a requirement of a pay out given it is 'his choice'.

Yeah on our website wow!

Timbo must be pursuing a boxing career with Willis:p

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Chairman Scott Penn has today announced that Tim Cleary has resigned from the position of CEO allowing him to pursue other opportunities that have become available.

“I would like to thank Tim for the contribution he has made to the Sea Eagles and I wish him and his family all the best for the future,’’ Mr Penn said.

Tim Cleary said: “I enjoyed my time at the Sea Eagles with the team, fans, and especially match days. I wish the team every success for the future.”

With Cleary vacating the CEO role today, Chairman Scott Penn said that he will now assume the role of Executive Chairman.

“I will continue to work closely with Chief Operating Officer Neil Bare, who has been a key member of the Sea Eagles senior management team since November 2014,” Penn said.

“We have a sound business plan and I look forward to working more closely with our terrific administration and football operations teams to ensure we continue to achieve our off field and on field vision”.

Geoff Day, a former long term Penn Group executive with extensive sports sector management and consulting experience, has been engaged by the Sea Eagles to support the ongoing implementation of the business plan.

And to think that things seemed to be getting better for the franchise. Re fan engagement, fostering the Manly culture etc, etc. I thought Cleary was actually doing quite a good job. So to hear that he has resigned after such a short period of time in the role is quite worrying. Especially when he was apparently hired by Penn to sort things out. Maybe he was not a yes man. And obviously there are some major problems somewhere, (not hard to figure out who those problems are) so why I ask, are these problems not removed???

Anyway, this is actually terrible news IMO and again shows a lack of professionalism, business sense and management skill from the owner(s).

Just unbelievable really and as a passionate fan this is upsetting and incredibly frustrating. The franchise was starting to slowly get my trust back. Now however it has been lost yet again in an instant.

Hope this crap is not impacting out boys too much as well.

Needs a strong character to get through that place. It is beyond me how there is so many power struggles and battles ongoing in there

Tim as has been spoken about came to Canberra a few weeks ago and met manly fans at the gate, thanking us for traveling even offering myself and others tickets to the game. He genuinely had us as members in his thinking

You will never see Scott penn do that or for that matter Bozo.

He was very well spoken man Tim and I think he was the right man for the Job. Our club at the moment from a management perspective is the biggest basket case ever.. you have a better chance with lottoland than having influence as manly sea eagles CEO.
