Like everyone on here pssd off regarding last night's result.
Even at 16-0 we didn't look comfortable as the Tigers blew several chances and we took our three.
THEN welcome to the new age game of NRL (Not Rugby League) and Jake's unbelievable tackle penalty that changed the whole momentum of the game. We panicked (as we have done on so many occasions when things don't go our way), we get 3 sin bins all which were very dubious, played with 12 men for almost half a game against and a penalty count of 6-1 and 3-1 six agains in the first half ,a crowd that totally fk the Ref, they score 30 straight points and the rest is history.
Enough of the excuses.
In between we played some really, really dumb football and Siebold had no idea how to stem the tide with his replacements , only Turbo did and almost got us there in the end but Saab didn't and must of had a bet on the game to play so fkn poorly.
Apart from Turbo , the rest of our mob should take a real good look in the mirror regarding how they reacted to ADVERSITY last night. Particularly the forwards who really buckled under the pressure.
We now have 2 games to turn it around and it's about time that Siebold shows some balls at training this week, humiliates them individually for such a piss poor effort, sacks a few (Burbo,Gordon, Koala and Saab would be a good start ), but he probably won't !
Welcome to being a Manly supporter and finally my rant is over and I can go and have breakfast 😡.

Anybody see the presser, don't think i could cope watching croaky Siebs going through the usual montage/summation of how the team performed and which player gets the coaches award.
Manly got what Manly deserved x10. Riveting stuff.

And having 3 players at various times in the naughty bin didn't help our cause either.
Adversity never helps any one feathered friend
The Resolute ones help them selves and prevail
Finals footy is all about True grit and Resilience in the Trenches

The Toothless Tigers had no teeth and so they had to claw their way back into the game after a 16 points to nil deficit against a Superior Seibold Sea eagles team on paper that crumbled under adversity to a 34 to 26 loss
Winning is not all about Excuses , Winning is all about Resilient Executions

Actually he was pretty straightforward and honest about how crap we were. And I’ve been his biggest critic when he’s given the ‘I’m proud of the boys’ speeches. This time he just said we weren’t good enough and we need to look at ourselves. Good! We do!!

Yep you could see both he and DCE were both shattered. Praised the other team and criticized the players for poor discipline. Good presser really.

IMHO it’s time to make some tough calls running into finals. Lodge has be be given a go, Simkins at hooker because he seems to get the forwards onto the ball better than the other hookers we have. Jake needs a weeks rest and think about his game. He is not adding anything atm and seems to have lost his ball playing and Brown to start at lock. Talau to start at centre instead of koula who seems to be a straight runner but not a centre to support his winger. Have Paseka start in the bench and bring in Navale there as well.

At the game (I live in Norton St). Also back home by the end. I was bemused by Bullemor bin. Got straight up from tackle. And Ola’s bin (no head involved). Just like 2013 GF, the refereeing killed momentum and hope and the players generally didn't rise above it. It was like something scripted in WWE or a boxing match fixed by Russian officials.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but before kickoff in the sheds the tigers looked calm, relaxed and all were smiling. Our guys looked very nervous. Again at half-time when the tigers came out for the second half, they were all smiles again. Did they know something we didn't? Just my observation.

Our dummy halves were awful. Koula and Saab had a night to forget. The pack was dominated by he Tigers pack. But the Tigers got a huge leg up. At 16 nil down to receive 6 straight penalties and have the opposition a man short for 30 minutes turned the game on it's head and IMO was not deserved. The Tigers lay all over us and pushed and shoved us in the ruck during the first half and they were not penalized. They constantly walked off the mark taking the marker out and most of the time nothing. We get reamed and poor Bullemore gets sent to the bin for spending less time on the tackled player than the Tigers were. Frankly I did not consider that Big O's tackled warranted 10 minutes his shoulder made clear contact with the chest of the player and there was no contact with the head. The commentators saw it the same way. I felt sorry for the boys. Its a miracle that they only lost by 8. I'm not watching anymore live football there is no pleasure in what I had to endure last night. IMO the contest was destroyed.

With the ref’s assistance, everything went right for them & everything went wrong for us.

Whatever Gough’s internal count was for how long he allowed the Tigers to hold us down after a tackle, he halved it for us. Our guys were terrified to take advantage of dominant tackles after the 6 back to back penalties when we were up 16 nil & to put any starch into a tackle after Olakau’atu’s sin bin, hence it looked like we were playing touch footy out there.

30 minutes with 12 players will fatigue any team yet we still managed to mount a comeback, only falling short due to errors, due to said fatigue.

Glad you mentioned the walking off the mark. Tigers put the ball to the side of the markers and 1m forward of the marker and then Api shoots out of dummy half calling the markers offside and calling and pointing for penalties...the Tigers first try for Api was directly from this and we fell for it ( as did that no clue ref ).

Point 2 - touching the ball with the foot in the play the ball is now redundant - its officially tunnel ball as far as the refs are concerned and if you play it with your foot and actually half miss toe it it's a knock on, while people who get up and throw it through the legs get a faster play the ball and no penalty. The Tigers tunnel ball was super fast last night.... lets read the tea leaves and get with the program, the refs arent calling it. Lets start tunnelling.

The whole play the ball is a dogs breakfast for all teams at present.

A lot of the issues in the ruck were due to the ref. Once we got up a few tries he was blowing penalties and issuing six agains for any line speed, tackling hard or slowing down the ruck. Add to that 30 minutes with 12. It was a farce.

100%, my thoughts as well. Time for some home truths. Paseka atm is a poor mans NAS, he teases you with his raw power but can't sustain it in a game. Jake offers nothing in attack, his hit-ups are a breather for the opposition, aslo noticed Jakes missing a lot more tackles now, this was bound to happen. Gordon can't throw a decent pass, the pass to Brownie was way to high, been waiting for Gordie to expolde in attack but has been shooting blanks for a while now. Time for Simpkins to come in. Croker looks cooked, once he makes a few one on one tackles he's ready to be spelled. And yes, Kuola to the bench maybe, we look so much better with Talau. Agree on Lodge and Navale coming in for Ben and Aoiloi.

Have to totally agree with Leonard Cohen "s pre match suggestion that for whatever reason , just wired things seem to happen with Manly results at Leichhardt Oval going back a while now .
With last night 's outcome no exception .
Leading by 16 and some reasonable control of the game,
Unbelievable run of things going against them for most of the remainder then , self imploding in some instances, really hardly warranting 3 sin bins and 6 consecutive penalties and then should have somehow still pulled off a probably undeserved win at games end.
Just had a notion before the match that Jake and as it turned out Brown were on the jaded side and needed more of a rest type arrangement but the nature of play just did not allow it .
Did look like some of the 9 service was hindering the attack a bit , even allowing for a generally off night for the side in general
.Hard to quantify playing 30 mins with only 12 players, even against quite average opposition but combine the other factors working against Manly also and a bit more clear with the bad outcome .
Turbo generally shining again was a bit of consolation but not sure where he was positioned when that young Tiger just cruised through for an almost uncontested try in the early 2 nd half
Nothing really good again coming out of this one , wouldn 't be too harsh on some of the individual performances ,
Whole side has to take joint responsibility , just one of those nights in some respects but have to largely get their act together fairly quickly to measure up for whatever is left of their season

Even better let’s do the 45 degree step forward and to the side tunnel ball. The refs call the markers off (so long as it suits them of course) and you get a tonne of momentum. Compound that with a six again for the markers thinking they are square and getting involved - it’s a great strategy.
