The Tim Cleary Mega Thread

The 1.6 wouldn't include the loss of CoCo Joy sponsorship dollars, plus the legal costs in chasing them for monies, then the costs awarded to them by the Judge 😱

Hang on I'm sure the spin in the papers was that we settled this Coco Joy matter and it was a "significant boost" to our bottom line.

So we entered a sponsorship arrangement with the CEO of a company, wore their logo for over a year, had the sponsor renege on payment because their CEO somehow wasn't authorized to enter sponsorship arrangements, took them to court and lost and had to pay court costs. Is that how it went down?
Yes, according to these reports.

Then Kelly fell on his sword and left for Chelsea @

I'm starting to thing that "the immortal" is a bit on the nose with Scotty. cast our minds back a couple of years and picture the immortal telling Scotty that he can "fix" it all up. So, Scotty says "Bob, you're on" Two years on, things have got worse and Scotty is not going to wear it.

I see your spin and raise you mine @;)

Manly Sea Eagles secure home on northern beaches with Lottoland sponsorship
February 2 2017

Manly have enjoyed a double financial win after settling their sponsorship dispute with Coco Joy and landing a naming rights stadium deal that secures the club's future on the northern beaches.

The Sea Eagles will go into the 2017 season in a much stronger financial position after sealing two sponsorship deals with Lottoland, including the re-branding of iconic Brookvale Oval. Under the terms of the deal, the home ground will now be known as Lottoland in a deal which nets the club a seven-figure sum.................

In another significant boost to the bottom line, the Supreme Court dispute with FAL Healthy Beverages, the parent company of major sponsor Coco Joy, has been settled. While the terms remain confidential, it's understood the outcome has resulted in a significant settlement for the club.....................

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...th-lottoland-sponsorship-20170202-gu4c6x.html

Now it doesn't clarify whether the settlement was "significantly" good or "significantly" bad..........it's secret squirrel stuff.

@Chip and Chase No one must lose face in these settlements :shake:

I suspect they got reamed out and didn't see a cent from Coco Joy for sponsorship, and I also suspect the "significant settlement" was a negotiation on how much of their court awarded costs we would pay - but only those on the inside know the truth of the matter because the cone of silence has been lowered. The fact that Joe Kelly is no longer there fuels that suspicion as he was heavily involved in this deal.

However I also presume that there are other legal avenues through which to pursue FAL other than a statutory demand under the corporations act - so maybe they kept some powder dry and did have a win. If so it certainly hasn't been publicised to the extent that the original supreme court action was plastered through the papers

@BOZO what is your take?
My Take is this . The Boss Passionate Penn who puts more money than any of us where his mouth is for the love of the club has made his decision and I hope that the Immortal can make the responsible decision for the love of the club and get on with his job and that is to continue with his rebuilding plan.
I strongly believe that all , officials players and supporters are much stronger together . We are not going to meet our target if we are divided club

Nice sentiments. But it's not we fans who are dividing the club. The owners and paid staff and the ones who have done this over the past four seasons.
As for the remark about Boss Penn's money, I'm sure many of us would buy the club and build a new stadium if we had the financial resources. C'mon Lottoland! Then again, I don't gamble so I'm not in the running for any windfall.

What is going on in that office?....

- Cleary v Fulton.
- Fultons daughter sacked.
- PA to Cleary resigns.
- Obeid family in our corporate box.
- Staff on stress leave for questioning Obieds presence.
- HR firm brought in to interview all staff.

It's a fair dinkum circus.
all I care about is that we keep losing games and are paling like ****!

The truth is there are many fans out there with plenty of money but not many generous like the Penns who are prepared to invest it in an NRL club that does not have great returns like other investments . Credit must be due to the Penn family.
Every one can talk and say IF they could they would but unless they do its all hot air

Plenty of action over the twittersphere about the internal rumblings at Narrabeen. Might be time to resurrect the #crisis of a few seasons ago.

Oh yes the glorious Penn, investing in a loss making venture like a NRL club.
Remind me again about the LC building and adjoining carpark, and who is making $ off their sale ?

Why Jason King's mum walked away from Manly

There was a very notable absentee from the Brookvale faithful last Saturday - Pam King, mother of former skipper Jason King.

She's been an ardent fan since childhood and rarely misses a game.

Until a few days earlier Pam was working at Sea Eagles HQ, as personal assistant to new CEO Tim Cleary.

The pair had worked side-by-side for years previously, across the road from the stadium at St Augustines College, where Cleary was principal.

I must have missed something as I could not see a why just a claim there was no coincidence, it was half an article, intro, preamble, an event then it finished. just looks like another re-hash job

When did the crisis ever stop? We just seem to lurch from one headline to the next......
