Coaches lose the dressing room all the time, in all sports. Not sure sabotage is the right word, but not playing for the coach amounts to the same thing.

Losing the dressing room is plausible, but quite different to suggesting a player (or team) go out and purposely play badly to undermine the coach. Same result is possible, but they are greatly different. The player may chose to ignore a coach’s instruction if he has lost the dressing room, but no way he purposely plays badly.

The players could be correct with their respective views however what is most alarming is this seasons individual performances on the field of the senior players, their performances have seen them not selected for state of origin or dropped after one appearance due to a poor performance.

I could get on board with this view if the players were performing on the field, these individuals should have their entire focus on their performances and the teams performance on the field and their voices would carry more merit.

But don’t you think the reason for their poor performances could be the coaching, hence their view?

Been floating around a long time. The no Seibold at DCE’s wedding. Everyone brushed that off, but there’s serious truth to that. They don’t like each other.

Could be, but as you know highly talented representative players don’t need as much coaching as the not so experienced players.

For me the senior players have let themselves and the club down this season with their on field form and efforts, look at the two most highly paid players defensive efforts over the last month.

But i would have though watching the last 5 years of results as fans, we would want to hear that the coach and player group is at odds somewhat. What sucks is giving it air.

We need to change a lot and change always brings emotion

Commentators were saying there was a lack of commitment to the 1%’s in the tigers game, and some of the tackling was lets say, a long way short of fully committed. Is not putting your shoulder into a tackle purposely playing badly? Probably just semantics, but either way, it is clear there is a disconnect between the coach and players, which usually only ends one way.

Well Seibold did get the side to the finals last season and not sure if there was any noticeable or actual indications that the coach and playing group were not on the same page in general
And fair to make the point again that Manly have beaten 4 of the current top 8 present sides
Not saying that Seibold should be above general criticism or scrutiny but think that it is more just a combination of Jurno mischief making and injury - some individual poor player form and attitude , the main contributors to the current malaise on the team "s standing and performance factor
Still seems the case that Manly were simply not going or prepared to offer D C E another one mil dollar contract extension from 25 and still more on him for the following damaging consequences and disruptions
if D C E form level and on field professionalism was of a more acceptable standard for most of 25 so far , sure that there would not have been anywhere near the current level of instability

I don't mind the scrutiny on Seibold, im scrutinising him also, but won't accept that as an excuse from the players for their individual form.

There are days when players just have bad games, annoying but I accept it. Seeing lack of effort is on the individual and I won't be swayed that is on the coach. That's an excuse for babies in any form of employment.

Interesting, where has it come from that seibs doesn't like DCE.

On another note while im here, I didn't invite my boss to my wedding, and I imagine most people invite family and close friends. Being someone's coach for 2 years doesn't qualify at all. Did all Manly players attend?

Well , let see what happens next season when at least there should be a better managed style of team play when Fogarty takes over the 7 role and hopefully some much better team direction and game control
Could well and hopefully be some more effective use of Ola on an edge and with Fogarty if he is presumedly on his side . Almost certainly no more impulsive and pointless kicking on the 2 nd or 3 rd tackle and especially when the side is threating and pressuring the opposition's tryline and then just resulting in gifting the opposition possession
Maybe also some more measured and organized defense just wide of the ruck
Not too sure how these critical areas come into the realm of humorous reflection
Not sure also if Seibold or any other coach or prospective out there , can make Turbo play any better or avoid injury and to justify his 1. 2 mil of the cap he takes up
Have to question why Seibold seems to have the side play a bit too much [ well I M O ] one out plays when the spreads should be getting more attention but as far as the aggregate problems associated with the side for a good part of the season ,would hardly again think that Seibold is largely responsible

The rest of our off season recruiting will be the big tell for whether we are in with any hope next year. I don't mind the bargain basement recruits if it's what we need to do to survive until 2027 but I'd like to see more Taukeiahos and fewer Waddells.

I think if we look at them as people first
Anyone who is fair dinkum about footy has watched Tom decimate his body and footy mind while the chez has wrapped himself in cotton wool and that is being kind. extending one career by shortening another on the same quest

Tom carried the team on his shoulders and crappy hamstrings while captain happy threw cut out balls and dug gopher holes
