So will the ref be held accountable for telling blatant lies in the official refereees report?
Wow a referee lying to disadvantage Manly

It's....it's..... it's unheard of!!!!!

They'll claim afb was facing the wall when he said it so it was 'like a confrontation'.

If true, then the ref has to release a public apology to afb and Manly fans - as should hadley.

V'landy (v'lameday) was certainly happy to go off at afb yesterday claiming some kid will go to school and bully some other kids because of an unheard (by any children) comments in the tunnel. (b/s)

He will press the issue, it's non negotiable etc etc etc.

Now video evidence has shown the ref was lying and vlandy went off both barrels without seeking all the facts, will he apologise to afb and Manly?

I mean some child will read that and go to school and falsely accuse some other kids of doing something they didn't? Isn't innocent until proven guilty a tenement of law? Shouldn't that be non negotiable V'landy?

What say you? Or are you just another gallop / greenburg in sheeps clothing?

If that's your reaction, to threaten a man's livelihood without evidence, maybe the no fault stand down policy needs a real good looking over.

Shame!

And Zorba and Manly’s old friend, Webster is having a crack in the SMH.

Not sure what he thinks DCE should do when the referee calls for video adjudication on a possible penalty try, but then we didn’t even receive a penalty.

Dolt.

The camera never lies unlike Shock Jocks, and now referees.

it is pretty clear to me that certain media types are applying payback to AFB for calling out one of their ‘media darlings’ a few weeks ago.

What I want to know is, if what AFB did is so reprehensible that they want to make sure kids dont go into school & start bullying each other with the words AFB used in his rant, where is all the outrage & constant repetition of the dog shot Leilua put on Edwards?

Sure he got 3/4 weeks for doing it but I've seen & heard more about what AFB said than what Leilua did.

Surely they don't want kids going into school & coathangering other kids so where's the oversaturation & vilification of Leilua's actions?

So the press today is saying that he is still going to get further sanctions for what he said behind closed doors in the dressing room. Now this is opening up a can of worms. So is every dressing room now going to have a live audio feed and any comment made after a game referred to the judiciary ?

So the next time Des rips a door off and says “ ****ing referees they are all ****s” the club will be up for a $200,000 fine and the loss of 8 competition points ???

It’s a ****ing joke, the dressing sheds are sacrosanct!!

Also Dean ritchie was saying that the mrc was aware of both incidents before handing out the suspension.

So if anything extra is applied, we now have an abdo and a v'landy who can make one off decisions independent of the committees that are charged with making said decisions- and in fact the nrl head honchos repeatedly defend and claim that these committees are best equipped with making those decisions.

answers on a corrupt postcard.

I would love a dollar for every time a player vents about officials in a team dressing room after losing a match when their team was denied justice, I would be a trillionaire!!!

There are three things that need to be established by Mr Vlandys.

Who leaked the confidential referee report to Hadley???

Will the referee be questioned as to why in his match report that he inferred that AFB had a go at him in the players tunnel when there is photographic evidence that this did NOT occur???

Why has Vlandys and his team over looked the fact that the match review committee had received a referees report about both incidents and have now decided to add extra suspension based on potential heresay.

I am now legal expert but this could easily lead to a misscarriage of justice for AFB.

This is an ugly ugly incident for the game and our club.

AFB deserves a suspension and fine for what he said and he should as part of his punishment spend time with the children and families who deal with the circumstances of dealing with conditions like cerebral palsy or down syndrome or spina bifida and understand how hurtful those words are.

If there are fabrications mentioned in the referees report then he, the NRL and the shock jocks wanting blood need to ALSO apologize!!

Also....after all the concerns about AFB's actions and language being witnessed and carried out by children at schools....there are bigger issues they MUST be concerned with.
The FIRST and MOST important advice we get as children is about lying.....THIS is seen as the biggest problem in society and EVERY teacher /parent/guardian/adult across Australia is adamant about this from the time we are in nappies and it pretty much sums up our integrity....
IF this situation was not true relating to the ref copping the further spray in the tunnel and in fact this other accusation took place in a dressing room, this is every bit as bad...in fact worse than the AFB outburst.
AFB made a mistake - YES, but owned it and has been hung on every media outlet, at least he apologised and owned it....these other blokes who created the entire issue with possibly the worst dud decision in a decade, then made further allegations that now are appearing untrue ...well, hmmmm - not far off becoming a very personal case whereby AFB could come at them for false allegations and the NRL may well have to step in if these refs and officials and media who had zero evidence have made up complete lies to attack the character of another human being.
SOOOOO much wrong with this including bullying, blatant lies and personal vendetta....what is this teaching our kids - perhaps if you wear certain uniform in society you have the Power to make up stories that belittle others and also become exempt from taking responsibility for your actions, whilst others (below you) are vulnerable and are hung out to dry - seems a great way to raise our kids ???

I can't wait to hear Wayne Bennet's comments on the dressing room issues. He brought it up a couple of weeks ago when the media where demanding to know what Latrell was upset about.

As AFB was sent from the field didn't V'landys & co stop to think he would have been way ahead of the ref and already in the dressing room. Of course they didn't. The whole story of AFB being sent from the field and then waiting for Atkins to the enter the tunnel so he could call him more names gave Hadley & Kent a much better story to tell.
I would also like to think a Manly official would have quickly ushered AFB into the dressing room so no such altercation could occur.

Wasn't it only just last week that people were crying about camera's being in the change rooms, saying that it was an invasion of players privacy? And now they want to use it to their advantage in vilifying AFB?
