The players who may have slipped off the radar and will be looking to make their mark in the NRL next year.

1 Greg Eden (Broncos)
He was dubbed as England's version of Billy Slater, but Eden failed to make his NRL debut this year. Eden, who has another year to run on his deal, spent the season in the Queensland Cup.

2 Omar Slaimankhel (Roosters)
The Pakistan-born Slaimankhel was a teenage sensation, dominating for the Warriors in the under-20s. He made the switch to Japanese rugby before signing with the Roosters mid-way through this year. He was named in the NSW Cup team of the year.

3 Mitch Brown (Sharks)
From grand finalist to reserve grader. Brown was trumpeted as a big signing returning to the Sharks from Canterbury. But his form saw him restricted to just two top grade games, having been dropped after round one.

4 Tautau Moga (Cowboys)
Injuries threaten to rob Moga of his best football. After playing six consecutive top grade games, Moga tore his anterior cruciate ligament for a third time, ending his season.

Jacob Gagan (Sharks)
Gagan was a rare shining light for the Sharks during their bleak 2014, scoring five tries in seven games. An ongoing hamstring injury meant he didn't feature in the NRL this year, and barley played in the NSW Cup.

6 Ben Hampton (Storm)
Hampton moved from back-up to regular pivot last year, but the signing of Blake Green forced Hampton to play second fiddle. His three games came in Cooper Cronk's absence through injury and Origin.

7 Jack Littlejohn (Tigers)
There is little shame in playing behind Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans, but Littejohn was overlooked when the pair were injured this season, failing to play an NRL game, having made his first grade debut in 2014. He will again be a back-up half when he switches to the Tigers, but will want to put pressure on Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks.

8 James Gavet (Broncos)
A trumpeted signing by the Broncos, with Gavet expected to add some mongrel to Brisbane's forward pack. Instead, he had a horror year playing just one top grade game, after being suspended in his debut. He then tore his anterior cruciate ligament at training while banned.

9 Cameron King (Eels)
One of the most decorated junior representative players, but injuries and form have made the NRL a difficult transition. After making his debut at the Dragons, King played just four games in two years at the Cowboys. Will switch to the Eels for what could be his last chance.

10 Mickey Paea (Knights)
After four years in the English Super League, Paea will return to the NRL with the Knights next season. During his previous seven-year NRL stint, Paea featured in more than a dozen games in a season just twice.

11 Ben Henry (Warriors)
Another player whose season was cruelled by injuries. Henry's year lasted just four games when he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time.

12 Kelepi Tanginoa (Eels)
Tanginoa returns to the Eels after an ill-fated one-year stint at North Queensland. Battling homesickness and injury, the former Junior Kangaroo featured in just three games for the Cowboys.

13 Todd Lowrie (Knights)
The 32-year-old veteran returns to Newcastle, having made his debut at the club in 2003. Lowrie was contracted to the Broncos this year but failed to make an appearance at his fifth NRL club.
