The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

I probably didn't look closely enough, but I didn't think he was obviously injured right from the start, to me he seemed similar to how he usually moves. ie not very dashing but can still hobble around.
(but as I said, I didn't look all that closely)

I don't know ... but either do the people who are 100% certain he ran out injured ....

He got through a week of training and a captains run .... you would think if it was troubling him he would have said something ... or ... the staff would have noticed .. they all get leg massages before the game .. so again no issue must have presented ..
Watching the Shu start the game we would all have a doubt that he was 100% playing playing fit .

I'm guessing that Schuster hid the injury from the medical staff and coaches due to been super keen to play .As I have already mentioned , Manly has the players to cover whoever gets injured .Schuster needs to sort himself out and have a good fist of it when returns .Let's go Manly .

In some ways I think the worst thing to happen to Josh was the manager agitating for the 6 and thus the moving on of a Manly favourite.

So rather than young Josh just quietly developing his game, fitness, body, footy smarts, he became a beacon of fan interest/obsession/hope/skepticism.

Dumbest thing I've ever seen a manager do.
The injuries are unfortunate but Kieran’s time was up.

You're dreaming ..

I have just watched the whole first half again ... watching the Shu only ... at no stage does he limp or look hampered by injury ... overweight and unfit yes ... but no apparent hindrance from a leg injury ...

There was one run where he appeared to pull up

The commentators seemed to say it was due to an obstruction but I thought it might have been more? From memory he did not kick the ball after that at all

From memory .. he pulled up on a play out wide because Bully ran the wrong line, and then schu put a bomb up on the left shortly after. But I agree he did look a bit sore.

I don't think this should be a one week lay off. Clearly there needs to be some significant effort put into Josh (from both himself and staff), to get himself 100%

I don't want to see him named next week, only to run out and reaggravate an injury. Take several weeks off and come back and show us the player he can be.

I think we need to forget all this reconditioning BS for both Tommy and Shu and just go straight to Oscar Goldman. Ok, the weird sound effects when they run might take a bit of getting used to ....... but damn it, we can rebuild them!!
Unfortunately the best we can do is the late Grant Goldman. BEAVer

He gave up the world cup dream to bust his gut over summer to get fit. He's been injured since the trials and can't get his body right. Setback after setback and looking at his frame last weekend really points to him wrestling with some issues that may be more than just a physical injury. I hope not and wish him the best to get it all together soon.

something else is at play here and we all want to see Josh fit and well

I recently saw an interview with him & Joey Johns and he talks about how he thinks about Keith Titmuss all the time. So you may well be onto something there.
