The Manly Way

Not heard a single thing about this, except on visits to this site. Maybe a club email.

Should I bother?
SE Members were emailed the YouTube link to the video last night. It's also promoted on their FB page.

Should you bother emailing the club? - may be, but who knows when/if you'll get a reply. Should you bother watching the video? - definitely! It may show something of interest to you and it's only about 17 mins...

If we are not in a good place when DCE retires, then what are we now? We haven't seriously competed for a premiership in over 10 years.

He is a fine player, but when he retires it would allow us to change the identity and balance of the squad, which is perhaps what this squad needs.
When DCE and Jake’s contracts expire, it will change the landscape of the club. Will definitely give us the freedom to balance out the squad. If we can get Walsh up to NRL standard by then we will be in a very good position as he’ll be on a fraction of DCEs contract.

Never mind 'NRL standard', if he is potentially grand final winning standard you can bet he will be paid accordingly. Don't forget Latu Fainu was on 1/2 mil before he even made first grade!!

15 minutes of watching players hi-five each other after running up and down in a straight line or arriving at a venue with a rock star swagger...nothing to see here. I just watched my last episode of the Manly Way.
So, is your issue with the players or with the editing?
Would your enjoyment heighten if the video director inserted scenes of destitute-looking players in ragged clothes picking up rubbish cans and dumping it in the back of garbage trucks? Or working the beer lines in the Leagues Club?

Or perhaps, Seibold and crew should structure their training, ethos, culture tuning and esprit de corps building to appeal more to aging poet song writers.

Rather than targeted exercises designed to teach and try to motivate 20 year olds ... perhaps having them sing hallelujah and quote poetry would be more palatable to some fans .....

I personally just like seeing the players mixing and bonding along with the new youngsters....it just gives a good vibe before a ball is kicked.
To be fair, the show actually cuts fairly deeply into the Manly ideals heading into 2025 and though I'm always more about what happens on the field than what is Sold in a pre season show to excite fans, Personally feel upbeat by what I have seen.....and all will be revealed before long.

No, should I bother watching???

I did and it was tragic. Well i didn't watch the last instalment as I had to wash my socks for work tomorrow.

Dear me, maybe I should ring the club and ask for 40 minutes back.

I notice the plan b in the coaching ranks, ie get Brad Arthur back, has continued with staff recruitment of Steve Murphy, not news but its another piece in place.

On a positive, I think Seibold has lost a kilo or 3.

It is my opinion this year is a premiership window season for us. But geez the Storm and Panthers are clear top picks.

Mate if you don't want to watch it, don't watch it.

Is it as good as watching a game? No. But it is a smart approach

I mean there are only so many times you can watch previous games. Considering how under resourced the media team and how there is a massive demand for this sort of content (almost every club does similar - it is a way to engage members and fans during the off season)

I don’t have an issue, I just think it’s a bit of a wank, but I’m not stopping others from watching it or enjoying it.

I don't think it's a wank, maybe our expectations have increased based on last year.

What I'd like to see is what Seibs alluded to with the 'Campfire' chats and that way we also get to see more about the players.
