At least now their season is done Foran will be free to punt on the spring carnival...

Oh dont be so sure yet Loobs. I'm very suspicious about how the points table board hasnt been changed placing the Eels on 0. Question is why not. I suspect this 12 point penalty issue wont go away just yet. Not with Channel 9 having so many Eels matches nominated for their telecast between now and the end of the year.
I count at least 6 or 7

This has been answered time and time again. In the actual press conference Greenburg stated the answer.

The points will remain on the table until after the June 3 response deadline. Parra have until that time to respond to the PRELIMINARY findings. After that date and time the points will be removed. Given that the eels shed players in order to get cap compliant, I would say that there is no argument they can mount and those points will be removed.

In other words, give it a week. The NRL can't back down from that, it would just be open season if they did

From Weidler:
"Greenberg shows the human touch
There were plenty of major issues around last week — such as the Parramatta salary cap scandal — but NRL boss Todd Greenberg took time out of his week to fly to Brisbane to attend to another key Parramatta matter, Kieran Foran.

Without fuss or fanfare, Greenberg visited Foran in hospital late last week and spent time with the Eels star to find out exactly how he was. Foran has been having ongoing gambling and personal issues and really appreciated the visit.

Greenberg has his critics, but he is showing a human touch that is being noted by the players. He did the right thing by fronting the Eels players when they had their points stripped by the NRL for salary cap infringements."

Yep, Greenberg involved. Surprise, surprise!
Someone get me a bucket

Hyper extended his elbow and was needled halftime to get through. Very surprised to see him come out after halftime. Passenger all game.

There's nothing suspicious at all.

Its called due process and the squeels are legally entitled to give a response. As i cant see any defence expect that the points will be deducted come mid june and perhaps more.

the injury happened after half time. In about the 43rd minute. He played on with it hanging at his side for about 10 minutes until there was enough of a break in play for them to strap it properly.

Doctor and trainer were on the field so the NRL will probably fine them

I found this very interesting - from the Telecraps post game write up:

He had to get needled up and carry it through the game, but we’re hopeful he’ll be OK,’’ Arthur said of his star halfback.

Didn't Foran return from rehab on the weekend after overdosing on painkillers? If that was really the case, surely you would not give him more just to play out a game???

So what is really going on there???

wins > welfare

edit: That's not me saying I think wins are more important than players welfare....just a cynical observation on what clubs probably ask of players.

Gee Kieran....look mate it's up to you but the club really really really needs you.

Here's some painkillers and casino chips.

It's the hand he uses on his phone to place bets, it's a repetitive strain injury.
