"Other advantages" does not mean in an overall sense these advantages have made up for our losses in other areas/elements of our game---- just means with the right team make up their advantages can make a difference.

Take Buhrer for example, eats up more yards than G.Stewart(not so much this year coming back from injury looking underdone and behind a weak forward pack),----rare for G.Stewart to hit the 100 mark in the past with Manly----can run holes and racks up similar tackle counts. Offers more in a covering tackle sense but lacks the ball and all in your face aggression of G.Stewart and not as good a ballplayer.

In simple terms Manly have replaced aggressive, battle hardened ageing tough seasoned players with softer skilled more versatile players with a lack of explosive grunt in all elements of their game.(Even in the past we lacked explosive grunt but retained enough aggression now we lack both)

Once we get the right mix with our pack in terms of improving size straightness explosiveness and aggression levels then we will see the advantages of some of these other players---until then they will be adding to the problem not solving it.

We have a real mobile sort of pack with Lawrence, JSL, Symonds and Buhrer and a plodder in Starling but we just need that power forward to come in the second 20 mins of halfs to help march us up field so our backs can give em hell

Watched the semi final yesterday from 2014 us v bulldogs and Starling was a standout. I think he will be a great forward.

Make it all the NRL forwards off contract TC ?
Lets be realistic

Provide me with a list of all players off contract in the NRL, SL,20's and below along with video footage beyond just highlight packages and say $150,000 and I will waste my time with a 100% guarantee of the right pack to have.

Also any inside info in relaion to the up coming reduced interchange rules would be nice---it is obviously going to be reduced but by how much---if they go too far we are looking at 50-30 scorelines and dummy half running----borrrrrrring.

4 or 5 good games a year confirms he is not consistent . He also averages under 100 go forward metres and has no line speed . Every time he runs the ball he looks like he plods along .
I cant wait for us to sign a forward that runs and hits like Steve Matai

Hear you Bozo and agree about forwards like Klemmer. I do think that Starling will develop well though.

G'day all,Perhaps a little more subtlety and creativity from our dummy half would help our forward runners.Lets face it Smith and Luke for example help make some ordinary plodders effective.

Would help yes but willing hard genuine enthusiastic runners in numbers would help also and offer a bigger improvement.

He did not average more than 100 metres . There is an old saying '" you pay peanuts and you dont get good forwards you get monkeys 🙂
