The Daly Cherrygraph

While his form is pretty bad, i do think its pile on DCE time because of his unpopularity. Honestly…….gardeners leave is best for all. He gets covid

Go on holidays and think about your choices and he probably should be angry enough with himslelf

No way the chooks need the headless variety to guide them into the promise land. I imagine his slide will be epic .

I am so longing to see him play against us and read the room . Finally in the 14 getting paid 10000 to clap his hands and point in huddles. He is very photogenic in our victory huddles, almost like he knows how to position himself which is ironic as feck

A few more consolation sundays, a few quiet beers and next year

Last game at brookie getting more interesting by the day. Wonder who doesnt attend
Look I hope it isn’t a protest , regardless of the ending he’s been here for 15 years.

But I feel it will be relatively subdued.

I reckon they should do one of those big old style banners to run through. Like the peter sterling nsw in LA moment.

he would probably even run around it to avoid the hit , skirt wide , bring the second man through on the inside probably Tom and DCE sprints past after Tommy smashes his banner. Pretty fitting really

A BBQ would be a nice touch, maybe Luke Brooks could present it to him

Let’s face it there’s good reason why at almost 37 he’s hardly had an injury to mention.

Cam Smith was another , hookers are usually avid defenders , he was okay but never much put his body on the line.

Think you've nailed it - Daly has always played with a higher element of self preservation that the normal NRL player. He's cleverly avoided a lot of the contact by playing much more before the line than on the advantage line, Foran takes more shots from the defense while ball playing in one game than DCE does in a year. DCE will occasionally take a run up the blind side at a winger or centre when the defence is in disarray. But to me he has always played somewhat in a dinner suit to steal the old cliche. Very rarely squares his shoulders to the defensive line and usually fades crossfield. Done it very well for a long time to be fair too, with a lot of success, but age has caught up with him.

He hasn't quit on us really - he's just trying to do what he has always done but he's not as athletic as he was and at age 37 and who can blame him.

But I'm counting down the days......

DCE’s best years were when he had Foran beside him as he covered well for his deficiencies and they complemented each other quite well.

When he’s had a “lesser half” beside him his flaws have been there for all to see but some choose to ignore them and focus on his moments of magic.

I hope you accept my sincere apologies , I couldn’t see what you were seeing for years and to be honest thought you were just both , anti the guy.

The anti-DCE team running with the wind (howling gale) right now. But I'll not be retracting the various positive observations I've made about DCE over the years.

His character? I was as horrified as anyone at his bombshell this year. To publicly **** on Manly like that was unprecedented. Definitely 'not the done thing' in a footy club, let alone by a captain. Probably already regrets it. Or maybe he doesn't? But I'm also not naive to the times Manly (and every club) has shat on players.

The destruction of the 2008 side was not down to DCE. Manly 2013 was something of a last hurrah, within a couple of years Gift, Choc, King, Kite, Ballin, Rose, Snake, Skivvy, even Killer were all past it. Champion teams do break up eventually and must regenerate. Manly, due probably to their own incompetence, were not able to regenerate. The 2 brilliant young halves were the players to keep but Foz, champion as he was (and is) screwed Manly and suddenly Manly had neither. It was down to him, the club and Bozo as much as it was down to DCE that we threw all that money at DCE to stay. Some sane people may have rejected the huge deal, many wouldn't.

On field - DCE's form currently is crap. He's never been 'immortal quality', but over a long period was often very high quality. His flaws are real, but so is his talent. A brilliant player but often frustrating player.

Anyway I can't wait for him to leave now. And to see how Manly goes with a more conventional half. It's great to know Manly will go far better next year, without him holding us back (we hope!)

He did ok with Blake Green alongside him too.

Pity that all went up in a bonfire.

Been a staunch detractor of D$E for many many years, along with a select few on here….

Personally I’m over the moon most on here have finally seen this guy for what he is….A well spoken smarmy salesman……

It took him sh!tting on the club in a grand way, for many to see it, but I’m glad it happened. Finally showed many what a poor character he has, pure salesman. Guarantees he’s never going to be considered a Manly great, which he isn’t.

And find it extremely amusing a select few fanboi’s have basically disappeared..

New era approaches, and I can’t wait!!

Yep this is 100 percent correct. He is a very smart player and that is why he is still playing NRL at age 36.
I thought he has his best season last year however naturally as he turns 36 his speed has gone down again this year and his lateral speed has also decreased so age is catching up with him.
