Not going to post the article here, because it's waffle but Dean Ritchie basically rips into Manly fans for wanting him dropped. He lists DCE's accomplishments for Manly: 348 games, 184 wins. That's it. That's all he could write.

You know what's disrespectful and heartless, you self-proclaimed "dog", going on Channel 9, and proclaiming to the world and your teammates that you'd like to be anywhere BUT the place you have been for all of your career. Then playing like **** for the entire year, as if you're checked out completely.

Good , Dean if reading this , your mate the Dollar Chaser had every opportunity to end this year like a champion , and announcing AFTER we bow out, his intentions for 2026.

But no , he went on Chan 9, acted like a dick , and has been playing like he’s phoned home ever since.

And you blame US!!

That’s at best , laughable.

I’ve supported him for 15 years, up until that moment , now he’s dead to me , and a LOT of others too!!

I thought there were two things going on with his drop in form 1) he’s checked out 2) he’s saving himself for 2026.

But I could be wrong , maybe he’s gone one year too many and he at 36 is “ washed up “.

Every single half back he’s played against since the announcement has outplayed him 2 to 1.

If , as the story goes , he hasn’t yet inked a deal then reasons 1 & 2 above are pretty stupid.

I reckon DCE pre-emptively stopped Seibold dropping him by claiming there was a smear campaign against him from within the club at the presser after the Canberra game at Brookie, a week after he made his announcement on channel 9.

If Seibold had dropped DCE within a few weeks of that statement due to his form, I'm sure DCE's manager would have taken the Moses/Galvin route & claimed bullying & victimisation against DCE, & the RLPA (headed by DCE no less) would have had a field day with it.

I have been a Manly supporter for over 50 years. IMO DCE's form does not warrant selection in first grade this week and hasn't done so since the Melbourne game. Call me fickle Mr. Ritchie but DCE has treated this club and his supporters with disrespect since the circus after round 4. He is the one that has tarnished his legacy not the supporters. He felt it was important enough for him to announce to the world that he wouldn't be playing at Manly in 2026 in circumstances where he asserted he didn't know where he was going. He wouldn't say why he was leaving which raised the logical question as to why bother with an announcement at all. The effect of this circus was to have a significant destabilizing effect on the team and its prospects for the remainder of the season. Not something I would have expected from the captain of any team let alone the captain of my beloved Manly. I don't want DCE playing for us this week because he doesn't deserve to be picked. Coach Seibold please show some guts and select Joey Walsh.
