The Daly Cherrygraph

Our players are not on the same page, and that's the problem! Particulary in defence, and a lack of mogrel (aprt from Ola). This should come from the Sebs.
Are you serious? You think the coach is responsible for the “mongrel” that is shown by the players?

There may be one or two players who could be prompted or influenced to be more aggressive, but the coach works with the personalities in the team. As I hear often on here, coaching is often about man management… that includes recognising the personality of players (not turning them into something they are not)… just my opinion.

Seibs is a 'yes' man, and is out of his depth with this team. A 'Bellamy' 'Flanangan' spray during half-time is what this team needed!

Not really a seibs man but to replace for replace sakes is not where i want us to be yet
BUT leaving chez as our captain………halfback and even in the team defies reason

The drums are getting louder. DCE has scrutiny on his game finally and if seibs doesnt get in front of it , well the media will and manly will be news for all the wrong reasons

The decision, the conference, his form, queensland , manly, roosters. Its all going to blow up soon. And if it does and manly still have the 7 and the c next to his name then i am 100% behind seibs is NOT the future

As great as DCE has been for Manly , QLD, and Australia and I don’t think there is no doubting that , but time has caught up with him , Slater saw it , the Roosters are probably thinking it , The Manly players are feeling it and it has to be a contributing factor cause this team is better than there showing it
In my mind the DCE call has affected this team
Seibold can take some blame but DCE is he core of this Manly team at the moment
My thoughts too. Incredible athlete but seemed to struggle with the pace of the game, leading to errors.
In hindsight (always the clearest vision!) Manly kept him one year too long. Better not make the same mistake with Jurbo

Think he's regeting announcing his intentions so early in the season, in hindsight, should have kept it all quite till the end of the season and avoid all of this scrutiny on himself. Far easier to cop the flak at seasons end when it's all over, rather this death of a thousand cuts.

The Fogarty signing would have given it away…or if he kept the club in the dark, the Fogarty signing wouldn’t happen at all.

His decision to leave in the first place, blew up the season. His decision to announce it via 9, was disrespectful.

It will be hilarious if no one wants him anymore…or at least no one wants him for 750k +. He was very smug in the way he communicated his intentions with veiled swipes at Manly. It was cocky. If he ends up having to take 500k to play for the Titans, it will be very funny.

Yeah, this just gets more juicer by the week. Meanwhile his asking price is now in free-fall. The ESL is now looking more tenable for Cherry now.

What talent

The Fainu's are myths..what are they doing now..nothing..bang average
Schuster who??..what's he doing

All the rant about losing talent.. seriously Fafita can't make a St George reserve grade run on side.. Alex T ( was the next big thing in the front row along with Sione Fainu) ones now playing super league and the other won't get a contract past this year at the Tigers..he only got a contract this year to keep his brothers happy.
Feledy another dud can't crack into the Tigers side.

People bang on about talent we let go but the real problem is we have NO LEADER.. NO DIRECTION.. your half controls your game plan, controls the game tempo and sets up the plays.. DCE looks lost and slow atm...

Your CAPTAIN drives your team, inspires the effort, demands perfection and shows by example.. DCE looks like he's looking for someone to tell him what to do!

DCE IS COOKED..
Age has caught up with him and the Roosters are going to get themselves a Lemon.. I'm betting he retires half way through next season after he gets dropped. Watch this space...

That's was f@#king EMBARRASSING.. 53 years of supporting this club and i just saw the "soul" float out and away from the Manly Jersey
Summed up the Fainu's perfectly, wouldn't want any of them back here.

I wonder if DCE went public because there were no/very little rumblings in the press about the fact we hadn’t re-signed him beyond 2025?

Every other major player gets plenty of media coverage in this situation - in fact, the media usually does a full press campaign for them - but I don’t remember hearing much about DCE.

I admit I assumed he’d simply be extended for another year or 2 & remain a one club player, & transition into our coaching ranks when he retired, so wasn’t paying much attention to any possible media scuttlebut about him (which is what made his announcement so jarring).

Firstly this is not a pin it on DCE thread, as I see this an entire team thing including players, coaching staff and truth be known, even the fans feel a little down on vibe since the DCE saga came to light.
DCE has also copped plenty about his form and along with many team mates, much is deserved....but there comes a time to pick up the pieces knowing things in life change and adversity is part of this test....you either shrivel up or come back stronger....we shrivelled up.
But he is not alone in Manly's poor form and after starting the season in fine form, the team looked set for a good 2025.
Since then there's been a vibe of inconsistency, moments where the players look look uncommitted and this bond that we hear about is not apparent when the players are in the trenches....in fact they fold like deck chairs.
So many factors are involved, but the team looks flat, deflated, unconfident and the desire seems pretty much shot.
Everything from bad coaching, bad players, injuries and more have been thrown up the past 10 weeks or so, but the fact lingers, since the announcement of the inevidable DCE departure, the side has dropped of the map and are spiralling towards a battle for the spoon.
Is the DCE factor the key to this fall, or what else can explain just how badly the team has fallen apart ?
Keen to hear opinions on this....

I picked this up in an article today and it's an absolute joke that the salary cap is with the Roosters. The fine print.

This team is a young team on the way up. They have Sammy Walker and they have got Hugo Savala, who I think is a great foil for Sam Walker.

"Then you've got Sandon Smith, who has been incredible - and down below, you've got a young guy called Toby Rodwell, who is exceptional and he'll be playing in the U19s for NSW and he's close to playing first grade.

They are literally sitting on 4 potential superstar half backs and now bringing DCE in as well. These kids are 100k a year?? What a joke.
