The Daly Cherrygraph

Something has to give, no way do I want to watch him go round round each week for us playing like that.

He couldn’t have dialled it in much worse if he tried, it’s broken, so far beyond repair, it’s not just untenable, it’s rapidly becoming toxic. At least Jake Arthur would have busted a nut for us if given a shot yesterday, our captain no less, simply couldn’t give a sh1t.

Were wounded and Dalys either the infection or the bacteria feeding it, if we don’t clean it up its going to continue to fester until it bloody near kills us, it’s rainbow gate all over again or potentially worse, surely something has to give.

Someone has to grow a set and make the tough call, it’s past embarrassing, just how bad do we want this to get, 1 from our last 4, post Dalys bomb shell interview, you could see the disconnect in the side yesterday, something needs to give, someone needs to step up this can’t go on.

Tbh this is the same form he displayed for a couple of months after origin last year but because he was a fan favourite at the time , many just shifted his poor attitude and form on to others.

Now cherry bomb isnt flavour of the month his footy is finally being scrutinised , suddenly instead of being excused, or blame transferred

And its just what others have been saying for years funnily enough. Not different issues , but the same of what has been written in these very pages for years

Same dialogue , problems and excuses. He has always played for cherry

Great to see everyone catching up with the state of play

sure he is articulate but his footy IQ is almost the lowest of any half in the game, except he learnt a few years back that its better to let Tom break tackles, get injured and put his body on the line that doing it himself

I feel both or tom and jakes games have been modified over the years to accomodate cherrys lack of team ownership , and not for the better of their individual careers

There is NO way jake Arthurs enthusiasm wouldnt fill the void that DCE would leave currently and the team and club would look stronger making the big call
I suspect he wont be dropped publicly but he might carry an injury that keeps him out. Still have an ego to manage with a roster and salary cap

He'd have to agree to the injury storyline and his Machiavellian ego would never allow it.

I actually feel for Seibold. Dropping him would probably lead to player upset and a media ****storm.

DCE holds all the cards until we're finally rid of him

The problem is that DCE's current position (I don't want to be here anymore) has negatively affected the playing group. And his on field performance on Sunday was very very poor and the laying group would be well aware of that.

I actually think it could be the making of Seibold as a coach. People might start to think he has some xxxx and treat him with respect. As it is, he just looks like a deer in the headlight waiting for the senior players to tell him what to do. At the very least, he should strip DCE of the captaincy which he could quite easily say is to plan for the future.

I think he might if the alternative was that he was dropped to reggies
fake injury at least doesnt point to attitude or form

PISS WEAK ....seem like spoony is reluctant to make any big calls not matter how big the issue in front of him.
when things dont go well, any major decision outside your comfort zone could yield a better result. i.e. put up a bomb on the last tackle or just succumb to a tackle ??? Wake up spoony, take the captancy off DCE and put any player not pulling thier socks up in reggies.

It says a lot that even if dce is disillusioned with the club, he can’t even put in for the 80 minutes with his mates he has been with ( sone for years) to try get a win. He also can’t muster the pride of being club captain to maintain a standard of play and leadership.

They can’t play the injury card because then he can’t get picked for his precious origin.

I’d be summoning the leadership group with an extra e to 26 and have an honesty session on what’s best for the team. That display yesterday certainly was not.

Total prick. Talent doesn’t always come with class. And putting your self first can be done with grace. He has failed as a captain. Bin him

just have a look at these two clowns

Hope it all comes out this week then. Ideal opportunity to relieve him of captaincy and reset the tone of the joint (while there's still a pulse at least)
They said On the Matty Johns show that he should take ownership of this debacle and come out and say that he has signed elsewhere so everybody can get on with the season. In the presser he said where we made mistakes, but failed to take ownership of his mistakes which to me proves his arrogance

Still on a million bucks a season at Manly and as probably similar at the Roosters next season .
Surely not too much to ask to still try to put in a worthwhile effort for the remainder of this season as he will no doubt attempt for his next club .
Not too sure on what definition of mutual obligation in N R L participation and especially on a big contract but some form really needed here

Now though I support DCE's right to move to another club and state his intentions well ahead of that move, this does now mean I support his performance drop in recent weeks. For whatever reason his form is way down and the question must be asked, is he carrying an injury, or just not as committed. If the latter, then the coach needs to be seen to take some action and if that means removing the captaincy or even considering a stint in the Reggies, so be it. I think the former should be done, the latter, give him a few more weeks. I certainly hope he hasn't lost interest or has a chip on his shoulder about something. Then again maybe age is catching up.
