Of course that is the role of every agent and player? It is up to the club what they will stand forThe player and their management has a large say in playing hardball & upping the price .

I will agree to disagreeHmmm, but his behaviour come first, not the club's reaction.
As is often said, we shouldn't blame others for our own actions
Our Club do stuff some things up, but one thing Manly seem to get right most of the time. Is when a long time club legend should hang up the boots.Lot of mythology around the DCE/Manly old guard conflict.
A young star demands more money...
The established stars prefer more contracts for their good mates.
Hindsight says ...
Glenn Stewart (one of my favourite Manly players, and someone I wish would take up coaching) probably was best suited to head off to English super league when the NRL refused Manly's attempt to sign him on a very low deal for 2015
As we know, instead he bashed out a few games for Souths that year but was never a factor, before belatedly heading to super league in 2016 for a couple more (average) seasons.
Someone might argue it would have been a mistake for Manly to prioritise Gift, clearly past his best and on the way out, over a young star half.
Were Gift's mates thinking of Manly's best interests when they wanted him to stay? Was he thinking of Manly's best interests? Someone might suggest no, they were all thinking about what they'd like best, namely to keep playing with their good mates.
Different sorts of selfish?
I think they're all great guys and Manly legends but none of them are perfect - repeat, none of them are perfect!! and I bet Keiren Foran would say something very similar (And by all reports he's still good mates with DCE).
Yes, poor old Fatty Vautin being an obvious example. Our Club do stuff some things up, but one thing Manly seem to get right most of the time. Is when a long time club legend should hang up the boots.
DCE and some fans might not be happy he wasn't offered more years at 1.2 plus million dollars.
I'm just got my doubts the club sees it that way.
A parent has the child's lifetime to impact behaviour, positively or negatively.I will agree to disagree
For me there is a part of a parent with a spoilt child complaining about the behaviour that their actions have created.
Hasler, Ballin, Kite and Gifty are a few other prominent examplesYes, poor old Fatty Vautin being an obvious example.
No but I am saying that they created the environment where his perceived bad behaviour was rewardedA parent has the child's lifetime to impact behaviour, positively or negatively.
Are you seriously putting that on manly causing dce to be the spoilt brat you speak of and tell the club/team/watmough he wants more money and is not backing down? Didn't want to train or play. DCE started the agitation before his next contract was finished. How is it manlys fault with the man dce was shaped to be. What was manlys behaviour towards dce that made him act this way?
Cart before the horse I think
