It has long been my reasoning that the captains mindset, attitude and control has been stuck somewhere between glorious and panic modes

Manlys game has long mirrored his and while spectacular at times is has not proven to be effective . The circular chook is our leader

The team reflects the man , the chook , the chaos . Is DCE the chaos or at least part of, and has his chaos indicator increased this last few weeks. Or is it indeed a maxwell smart pun

But anyway funnily after 8 zillion posts , this thread is also starting to reflect chook mode

I think the release request he made while still having 2 years on his deal was the tell he didn’t want to be at the club but I guess reality doesn’t go with your Siebold/Mestrov bashing narrative

I still can't see how $750K is a "lowball" offer to Cherry. He's been paid wheelbarrows full of money by the club over a long period of time. He's also 37 years old. That offer would have taken that into account. It would also take into account the club's salary cap position overall. The hope would be that maybe - just maybe - Cherry would be willing to accept less money for his last hurrah, knowing that the money would be used elsewhere to strengthen the squad and give him a better chance of competing for another premiership with his "beloved" Manly Sea Eagles and teammates.

Obviously that wasn't to be, and he has every right to go somewhere else for more - or less! - money. But I don't think anyone at the club set out to insult him.

Which would be a damn shame for all the people behind the scenes who have had Brookie pretty much sold out since the start of last year. You could feel the atmosphere coming through the TV. I’d hate to see all that good work undone and we return to a half filled Brookie.
