The Daly Cherrygraph

It all comes down to coach imo look at some of the names in the storm team King,Blore,Loeria,Anderson,Leo,Garlick,Mcdonald with respect they are bit players but a coach with a system get's them to fit in.

Seibs seems to think you attack to win when defence is the way we should be heading.
Certainly compared with Bellamy, seibold is hopeless. But really, most coaches don’t compare too well to Bellamy. He is an amazing coach. But yeah, our systems seem to be absolutely broken - defensively anyway.

I bet that article was written about last Tuesday just hoping Manly got beaten.
I hate to agree with Rothfield but I think he's right.

When the captain of the club goes on national tv to announce he's leaving the club would have come as a shock to most his team mates.

I wouldn't of had a problem with it had he told the club and players that he's leaving, but the way he did it was to cause drama and havoc that's keep going to drag on.

I he came out and said I'm going to retire at the end of the season I think it would have galvanised the team to try and send him out winner.

If you say you haven't made your mind up yet why not just shut up until you do.

Can't wait to see the back of him.

The concern for me is the inability to win contact across the park. It's a simple game and every ruck is a contest. When you lose that contest more often than the opposition, you lose the game. There are anywhere between 280-300 play-the-balls in a game; we are lucky to win 100 of them. The opposition find their front against us consistently. That's the issue for mine. Reading the play and having a structure that responds to what the opposition is doing with the ball, is not even worth worrying about until we can stop the opposition from punching through us so easily. Even the best defensive structure will be tested off ruck speed.

The games we won easily this year, were off the back of starving the opposition of the ball, not defending stoutly. Further, when teams did get the ball, they looked comfortable with it, in spite of fatigue from so much defence. Then you factor in that starving the opposition of the ball is harder against quality opposition, and we've got ourselves an enormous problem.

Haha Munster was screaming at him to take the two. My respect for Harry actually grew in that moment. I reckon he said to Munster “shut the f$&@ up, we ain’t about taking 2pts to get to 50. We’ll get it by scoring a try, not by sone dodgy penalty goal”.

Dear Admin:

Please make it possible to like and laugh at/with a post at the same time.

Me.

But if you look at the rest of their players, you can’t help but think that the storm will probably win the competition
Their spine is unbelievable in Hughes,Munster, papenhausen & grant
Add katoa,Stefan utaman..,,xavi coates then those so called ‘bit players that you mentioned go up a few notches to complete the team which will probably then go on to take the title

Phil ‘Buzz’ Rothfield’s weekend highlights and lowlights: Daly Cherry-Evans circus hurting Manly

All in sundry will deny it but there’s no hiding the fact Manly is suffering from the Daly Cherry-Evans contract drama as evidenced in the club’s diabolical loss to Melbourne at Brookvale Oval. Plus Buzz’s highlight, lowlight and spotted.

Phil "the old piss head" Rothfield

Manly is playing like a team torn apart by the Daly Cherry-Evans contract drama.
When was the last time the Sea Eagles turned in such a lacklustre performance like on Sunday against Melbourne Storm at Brookie? Take nothing away from Storm but Manly were awful. It would be very easy to sit back and blame the absence of champion fullback Tom Trbojevic. And that front-row metre eater Taniela Paseka is out for the year. Coach Anthony Seibold will deny it had anything to do with the Cherry-Evans circus. But you could almost tell from their body language. That they just didn’t turn up.
And you can almost understand why the players looked so dispirited. How are they supposed to feel when their captain so publicly admits he no longer wants to be there? That he’s bailing out. Jake Trbojevic is already on record as saying he could never do it. His brother Tom offered to pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars of his contract when he was sidelined for a long period. That’s what the jersey and logo mean to them.

Before the Cherry-Evans story broke we were talking about Manly as a definite top-four side and a serious contender to go all the way. Their late tries made the scoreboard look slightly more respectable. But they got pumped and conceded 48 points at what is normally their fortress. We concede that DCE is not the first player to announce he is leaving a club well in advance. But there’s a difference. Dylan Brown has 13 million reasons to declare he was leaving at the end of the season. The same with James Fisher-Harris at Penrith when he revealed his plans to join the Warriors midway through last year. Teammates could understand the reason why. In DCE’s case he supposedly has nothing planned. He just doesn’t want to be there beyond this year. Simple as that.
No doubt he penned the article for last week, but dammit... we won that game!
I take everything these so called journalists with a huge grain of rock salt

Woodsie on Triple M this morning to Brett Read - reckons he got a tip off from someone who was at the gym talking to a local real estate agent who said they're appraising DCE's house in Curl Curl.

Read said he'll chase that down & find out what's going on.

LET THE SPECULATION CONTINUE!!!

DCE shook hands with the Roosters late last year. No contract signed as yet.
The reason he is leaving is not simply for the money, however that is one consideration. One of the other reasons is that DCE believes Siebs is a substandard coach and he wants to win another premiership. This is doable at the roosters with Robson, Teddy and Walker in the spine and the money is right with future benefits. The mistake the Sea Eagles made was letting Humphries go thinking that DCE was going to stay another year. Surely you would lock DCE in first before you let Humphries go. Just another stuff up by the administration and poor management. We need an uncle Nick type owner who has his fingers on the pulse and is truly engaged in what is happening around him.
