The Daly Cherrygraph

No DCE upset the older players by agitating for an upgrade immediately rather than earning the right. That put him off with everyone especially the older guys like Kite, King, Gifty etc that were on poor money but gave everything. DCE turned up into a gun side at their prime and immediately ruined the cap. Thats why they disliked him.
And all these years later ,in hindsight , they were probably right in doing so.

Lol so many different views but everyone thinks they know 😂
There are only two that do ( two as in sides )

The Dollar Chaser , his wife, their manager.

Penn / Mestrov

And it’s a misinformation , bull**** game with the media who are largely making **** up to continue the story.

Never forget , they make their dollars these days on clicks / subscriptions / advertising so they will continue to push anything to keep that rolling.

Until the big announcement ( and well after ) this will be milked drip by drip by drip.

As far as us ( fans ) we can summise , but that’s all.

Yes they were, It more than likely cost Toovey his job also, because Tooves backed DCE, Gifty was forced out and poor Tooves lost the dressing room because of it. DCE for all the talk isn't Cleary or Cronk. He has excelled in Origin and can perform in big games that's why he has this reputation, but his record at Manly is mediocre. He is referred to a premiership winning halfback, but he was a rookie with so much talent around him it was incredible. Just about any decent halfback would have won a comp in that team.

This is all true, however the result remains the same, no premiership. Unfortunately he is not Nathan Cleary and he is 37. He can't get the job done and to your point, one of those variables was that it probably because due to his contract we haven't been a balanced side for 11 years.
How have we been unbalanced when you consider what other clubs are paying for halves that are not as effective as Daly? Clubs have had million dollar halves for ten years now. Some of those clubs have won premierships with them.

NRL legends says Daly Cherry Evans’s legacy now ‘tarnished’ after Manly move

Many believe Daly Cherry-Evans’ decision to leave a two-year deal on the table has tarnished his Manly legacy.

Story link:
James Graham has his own opinion just like every one that is spilt between who is right and who is wrong
Quote
James Graham said it shows he has always cared more about the money than the club he plays for.
“He (Cherry-Evans) says he felt disrespected because Manly didn’t go up to the level of remuneration he expected and therefore felt disrespected,” Graham said on Triple M’s Sunday Sin Bin.
“But what that says is it is all about money and the fans don’t want to see that.”
End Quote

Perspective time
Bob Fuiton and Ken Arthurson were both motivated by more money when they both left Manly to play else where .
So in James Grahams mind Both Bob Fulton and Ken Arthurson cared more about money than the club .
When Beaver was not offered a contract by Manly the Club cared more about the Money than they cared about Beaver who at the time was injury free and was playing good enough at NRL level and he decided to extend his career else where as he wanted to play on .

The moral the story is ...
In the professional world of sport it is also a business for both club and player
and the money motivation has worked both ways

and I will end my post with this ridicules and naive quote by James Graham
But what that says is it is all about money and the fans don’t want to see that
End quote
Well James , The modern era game is all about money and the fans have been seeing that for years
when their club has moved their favorite players on and their favorite players have moved on from their club beacuse of the money motivator factor

I get it from Hindy who was nothing but loyal to the squeals but ‘Piss poor’ from Spud… same spud that left his vermin mates for more money at Manly?

That’ll do me…

Spud is one of my favorite Manly Premiership Winning Legends and I will Always respect him
But I will not always agree with him
Yes he did leave his vermin mates for more money
He also left his Manly mates for more money.

Horses for Courses Hindy
As for Hindy .He retired at 33 when his time was up
DCE is 36 and his contract is up for renewal at Elite value because he is still playing up to Elite standard

You know what I find interesting is the whole way contracts are now sorted in the NRL

Basically when a player signs with another club then the club that the player is contracted to has 10 days to counter etc.

That is why Manly said bring us any offers etc.

What is interesting by DCE saying he is waiting will later in the year to "sign" he has effectively taken this option away from Manly / he can control the mail around where he is going till then

Just find it surprising that D C E was preferring to leave the club for 24 and 25 and when he was apparently still on a one mil K Manly contract .
Could not have been not that much more on offer elsewhere unless there were some other inducements .
Just the question on whether he is signed elsewhere already but just should not matter now as this is his last Manly season and that really should be the bottom line regardless of the circumstances leading up to this time
Still inclined to think that the club was blindsided to some degree for the past 3 months or so but doubt if it would have affected the means to find a suitable replacement on the open market
Fact again he is moving on obviously but with the genuine hope that he can put in his best effort in and form level for the remainder of 25

One thing the club should do after the smear campaign comment then the following press conference which was basically DCE stroking his own ... ego, is make Jake co-captain now and have him show at the post match pressers. The club really doesn't need to give him more air on club time.

Another thing I've been musing on, wouldn't it be funny after DCE going all in on Channel Nine if they lose the rights the year after he retires?

I think he left his panthers mates before he left his vermin mates
Yeah but he only played a handful of games at riff before making his name at Souffs…

Only one reason he left for Manly ($$$) yet he wants to criticise Chez for (allegedly) doing the same.. turn it up spud, go get that CTE checked out old son…

The other thing is that clubs do not want to be used to inflate players value with their own club…. Why pour resources into trying to sign a player if they are never going to come across?

Chez doing what he did says “I am available if you want me” (and gives a middle finger to whoever he is p*ssed with at Manly at the same time)

= Win / Win

Great call re the pressers. But then the numbnuts will say we are silencing him. We cant win.

As I’ve said many times , he’s the best in the game at this stuff , so anyone thinking that he’s not controlling every part of it isn’t really thinking very hard.

He’s a master at it , and I 100% acknowledge that

I hear what you're saying and makes sense, except that he has access to Nine and their multitude of shows and newspapers and, yep, 2GB.

There's gotta be a point where the club stops caring what numbnuts say. What is it? Manly hates you too
