The Daly Cherrygraph

Gave me a giggle…
We all have too. Hope your good with this

You have been loyal to your cause. Hats off to you. I really hope DCE invites you to his last game

I think i will wait for your Fatigue to kick in before i start running blindside plays on my views

Also @SeaEagleRock8 who seems all too quiet. Are you ok bud
I really do feel a little for some of the fans

Who did Penn supposedly ring during the show? I can think of a few times Buzz has gotten texts mid segment with a bombshell lead from his "sources" that turned out to be duds, be interesting to hear this press conference there is already reporters setting up outside Brooky oval i just saw
The claim from Anasta was that they rang the boss of fox league, then in an ad break Buzz rang Penn and Read rang Mestrov

Whole idea of a forum @jbb/james

We all have different perspectives but a shared goal

Geez what a trail of events, it wouldn't be an nrl season without some good old classic drama lol
Yes, Nothing quite a Manly club derailing season drama
Other clubs supporters like your self must be salivating with delight at what else dramatically unfolds at Manly .
I hear that there will be Boos at Brookvale directed at the Manly captain
Stay tuned for this latest Mad Manly Management process

The owners made an enormous mistake when they didn't build a team around DCE - one of the best halves over last ten years- and push for a premiership for real.

So many bad decisions with coaching, 5/8's and roster.
Now he's gone.

Reguardless of personality, the guy can play.
What? How have they not done this? It just hasn’t been successful. Also, how can any club build a team worthy of competing with Penrith when one player takes up 20% of the salary cap meant to house 30 players? I’m not defending Penn and can’t wait for him to sell the club some day soon, but let’s not rewrite history.

I know how you feel Bozo, I have experienced it many a time with my club only have to look at the finals last year with drama. It happens to all of them
I dont think boos will be beneficial considering Manly great form lately and wouldn't only risk a further risk of derailment
I asked a few manly boys about DCE couple months ago and they were optimistic that he has 2 years left easy, so something has happened in my view take that how you will

Not sure cause fairly sure he wasn't convicted of anything in the same way Brett Stewart wasn't, seems your ok with Brett Stewart being employed by the club though.
Did his wife punch herself in the eye? Not convicted is not the same as not guilty… she withdrew the allegations, Stewart’s were proven to be false…

But you are God, so you know what happened…

The biggest joke of all this is Penn making an offer on NRL360. What a professional outfit he runs... He is a deadset w@nker, if thats true.
“My management company and I have had really transparent conversations with people at Manly, and we've been directed to talk to certain people at Manly, and some people haven't been involved in those conversations, so they might be a bit unaware, but there's been nothing but transparency," Cherry-Evans said.

Sounds like Mestrov/Penn weren’t involved in these negotiations. Very odd and something doesn’t add up.

Alright I'm going to preface what I say by clarifying now anything mentioned is alleged and sourced from publicly available media.

Any mention of DCE doing it 'for his family' is bull****, sorry. Did he go to the strip club in Gladstone and punch Hastings in the face for his family? How about the other rumours? The ones I won't even mention on here, and you've never heard, because I don't want myself or the site sued into oblivion by the 'family man'.

If you think his contracts and public discourse are a master class in negotiation, making everything smoke and mirrors to maximise his earning potential is genius, then how has a bloke who goes about business in such a way managed to maintain such a finely manicured personal brand and image? Despite what your view is he evidently uses the same media apparatus to achieve both these goals, especially after last night's performance.

Just to be clear I'm not alleging a single thing. I'm simply pointing out that he's a master of manipulating the sports media to his benefit.

Personally I think he's a **** sportsman based off watching him fail for a decade. The mask slipped on his brand and reputation the first time around, and the same thing is happening now except he has media protection. It's surprising in some ways, but absolutely not at the same time.

Either way he could've left the club in a thousand different ways to get the money but he chose this way, and it's piss poor to treat fans the way he has whether they're pie eating idiots or not. He has shown his character time and time again, he better hope no one tanks that perfect reputation of his - it would only be fair after the disrespect he has shown the club (the club is the fans, not the Penn's).

Players play for money and family more than anything I reckon… half our squad are imported and will not blink an eye at Chez deciding to play elsewhere…

question is “how does this affect turbos and their next contract negotiations?”
Yeah you are probably right. It's quite a sad state of affairs. Given chez has been our captain, these younger players could be quite impressionable as most kids are. I dont believe for a second its comp wide though. Look at penrith and brisbane for eg. It's definitely a culture thing... I think the turbos are a different kettle of fish though. They understand they are apart of something bigger than themselves. Time will tell i guess.

Everyone just needs to take a breath. The guy is already a full year older than the next oldest current NRL player. This is probably going to be his last good season anyway. If he plays next year he'll go alright but his body is going to start failing him.

I didn't want the club to break the bank to try to keep him. Build a more balanced roster (the one we have been desperately missing), give Brooks (a Dally M halfback whose career was ruined by being at the Tigers) the reins, and blood a young 5/8.

I'm happy for DCE to play out this year and try to win us one more premiership, and I will cheer him on as he does so. After that he's within his rights to walk away, I just wish he hadn't played out a whole line of BS on live TV.
