I am of the opinion that yes it's clear he wasn't going to win us a comp off his own bat (proof in the pudding above).... whilst we now have to fast track whatever contingency plan we had, we may fall back down the ladder to a bottom eight team who struggles (atleast for a while)

Certainly seems like a possible reality. But we have been a bottom 8 team for the majority of the last decade. With DCE gone however, a head coach can finally instill full authority.

There will be setbacks, but also gains from this transition

So long to the absolute wanker one of the main reasons I find it hard to support this team. We move Brooks to half, Turbo to 5/8, hoppa to fb, Garrick back to the wing Tommy 2 to Centre and release Koloa buy Taylan May for 400 - 500k or another centre that can break the line, move Jake auther to lock, Jake into the front row rotation and buy the best front rower and second rower we can get out hands on and we'd be in a far better position than we are now and we'd have a strong bench, also time to promote simpkin and move on from Crocker.

Actually the club could have had Chez a lot cheaper but chose Foz - who then played them for fools and sent the club running back to Chez in fear of losing both…

Foz is the best thing that ever happened to Chez - won him (or at least helped him to win) a premiership and then pumped the sh*t out of his value by leaving for the eels…

The owners made an enormous mistake when they didn't build a team around DCE - one of the best halves over last ten years- and push for a premiership for real.

So many bad decisions with coaching, 5/8's and roster.
Now he's gone.

Reguardless of personality, the guy can play.

Seriously they’ve had decent squads but limited due to the size of his pay. He was never prepared to take a cent less.

Why not simply tell Mestrov/Penn he's made a decision, it's final, so they could make a joint announcement?
the only reason I can think of is so DCE can have a bombshell debut on channel 9, At the expense of the club looking stupid!

More I think about it, I think the club actually wanted to move him on, but didn’t have the balls to actually come out and say it. If they really wanted him, they could have had it stitched up a long time ago, and my mind has wandered back to Seibolds public comments about Tom playing at 6 as a little teaser to the direction they want to head, 1. Hopoate 6. Tom 7. Brooks until the younger guys are ready to come through

The club boned Menzies in 2008, but the organisation had more runs on the board and handled everything much better than we are currently doing. Probably also helped by the fact everyone knew Beaver would never play against Manly and create any type of situation

Yeah but why then would you embarrass yourself and the club by ringing a tv program live on air and make an offer?
