My job is to investigate all the complicated cases where the kids will lie through their teeth to avoid getting into trouble, and the stench of BS was practically visibly emanating from him.

I have cherry picked this one out of your post as it’s all about balancing the dollars in the cap as well, as it’s been alluded to DCE is well aware of how much an experienced seven would get on the open market, Manly may not be able to match it without sacrificing another area of the squad.

The below is more of a reflection on how strong well balanced clubs have had success in finals than how good the individual player is, I would like DCE to stay as he is a very good player still, though at what price for me 700-800K.

There is something really off about our club captain and the elder statesman of our club wanting to play out a final deal in public and also under the veil of secrecy. There is also something wrong with the club letting it get to this point. Cherry has his shortcomings and as a player has filled me with joy and in equal measures frustrated the **** out of me. We are not gonna find anyone of equal ability for the window we haveand will probably end up with Jamal fogharty

Some sentiment, goodwill and a dash of pragmatism from both sides Would have stopped this from happening.

I seen him defend on a wing in 2022 for 80 minutes in round 24 or 25 vs Raiders so he didnt miss the Australian team selection. Foz busted his hump in that 48-6 loss.

Success is built on more than professionalism. I’m not sure wether the players will be able to even muster 100% professionalism after seeing what their captain thinks of the club and the season at hand . It doesn’t get muddy more self serving than what he did tonight. He can rationalise it however he wants. Sentiment and his standing as captain should have stopped him from doing it like this

The Club, I don't believe so, there are some very good people who work in and around the Club.

Scott Penn, well, he may have a case to answer on that count.

He should be tried just as they tried Jerry, George, Elaine and Cosmo (Cosmo!!) in the series finale of Seinfeld.

And I mean in the exact same way, where people are called by the Prosecution (in this case, all of us here on the forum) and provide examples of Scott Penn's fine "leadership" throughout the years.
