Ash Taylor will get a look in before DCE.

Time for Qld to blood some more talent. No pressure for Ash if picked due to the series already being lost and the last game in Brisbane.

Lots of talk about how Maloney can put a mistake behind him straight away and try agian in the next set. Ash is the same.

They should look to ash taylor, he is having a great season.

The commentators this afternoon were all in favour of Ash Taylor being in the side. But he has to stop wrestling with his Rottweiler those scars on his head are gonna get infected.

Don’t lower yourself DCE the clowns across the border don’t deserve your talent and ability. No one with any credibility said anything when Jamie Lyon declined to play for the blues so let the laughing idiot Thurston and that no name coach Walters stew in their own juices and I hope they get flogged.

Just heard Inglis now out of SOO, I wonder if that brings DCE back into calculations simply because the maroons will be so short on experience.
If he is in the 17 it could do a lot for his confidence which despite the brave face he puts on must have taken some hits over time.

NRL and Fox are reporting that DCE will start at 7. I think Inglis being out makes it a no brainer. Cherry will likely be captain as well IMO. For his sake I hope Queensland win the next game.

Slater Queensland skipper after Inglis injury, DCE ends Origin exile

Billy Slater will captain Queensland in his State of Origin swansong as Greg Inglis' thumb injury piled on more misery for the Maroons, hoping to avoid a NSW whitewash at Suncorp Stadium.

Inglis was an 11th hour withdrawal from the Queensland squad with a broken thumb - even delaying Queensland's trumpeted Sunday night announcement of their game three squad - with Slater to take the captaincy reins in his 31st and final Origin clash.

It was another turbulent 24 hours for the Maroons as Inglis' withdrawal added to injuries suffered by Newcastle whiz kid Kalyn Ponga and Roosters enforcer Dylan Napa, who are both set to miss the series finale.

But it's undoubtedly the blow of Inglis which will linger longest as Queensland seek to restore pride and avoid their first 3-0 series defeat since 2000.

Inglis left the post match press conference duties to Sam Burgess after the Rabbitohs' narrow 21-20 win over the Cowboys in Cairns on Sunday and less than an hour later he was ruled out of game three.

The Maroons skipper was at his mercurial best in Queensland's game one loss at the MCG and has revelled in the captaincy since taking over from Cameron Smith, who quit representative football on the eve of the series.

But it will provide a nice moment for Slater, who will lead his state out on Wednesday week as coach Kevin Walters tries to build for the future having surrendered the series before even having had a chance to play in Brisbane.

Ponga, who sparkled in his Origin debut during a cameo of more than 50 minutes in the middle after coming off the bench, was tipped to retain his spot on the interchange – or even be elevated to the starting side – but will have to wait for his second Origin appearance.

He has been ruled out for three to four weeks with a grade one hamstring strain, suffered in the Knights' demoralising loss to the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

Daly Cherry-Evans' Origin exile was nearing an end with Queensland selectors tipped to parachute the polarising Manly halfback into the Maroons squad.

Gee the Maroons aren't having much luck with retirements and injury. ..........ROFL.......I'm loving it. Hope they pick Chez and he has a Barry Crocker and they get rolled by 30. Farewell Studs Up Grub with a series whitewash, what a fitting way to end his career and his Captainancy debut.

You hope Cherry has a shocker? Wow, that’s the way to support our players.

Well done Daly. You finally made it back. I can't say I hope you win, but hope you have a pearler of a game, go into golden point, only to have studs up miss a one on one tackle on Jake, who scores under the post. Sorry, but that's the best I can do for ya DCE.

I wish Chez all the best. Might do him a world of good being in that squad.

I wonder though if they will play him at 7 or 14. With Milf also in the equation.

Turbo has benefited being in the blues.

That's the only good thing that can come from his Qld selection. As you said, the Turbo's, especially Tom, have come back from Origin with renewed confidence so lets hope that win, lose or draw it has the same affect on DCE.

Personally though I think DCE deserves his selection. Its about time and hopefully can help him back into a Kangaroos jumper which I also think he deserves and should never have lost in the wake of the Qld blacklisting.

The only positive I can see in Chez being back in SOO, is that the Suncorp crowd will choke on their hatred as they stifle their boos whenever Chez gets the ball :finger:

This is what Chez will expose himself to if he accepts this belated backhanded selection :swear:
