It's kind of slow today, so just out of boredom and slight interest, would anyone support a permanent move to Gosford? And why yes/no

If it ever came to the worst case scenario, mine would be 6 games at Brookie, 3 at Gosford, 2 at Allianz and one left for either SCG, WA, NZ or Country NSW etc.

The days of cramming 16,000 into Brookie for a blockbuster are slowly going.

We need more corporate facilities and a couple of crowds in the mid to high 20,000's to stay viable.

It's not like we have a big Leagues Club or a Nick Politis to prop us up with crowd averages around the 14,000 mark....and that's on a good year!

If, by some miracle, brookie does get an upgrade and we're forced out for a season I'm sure Gosford would make a great temporary base.

I love Bookie BUT I must say watching the under 20's on the central coast yesterday made realise how bad Brookie really is. The pitch was perfect.
Id support 6 games at Brookie and 3 at Gosford and the rest where ever for now.

Im just not sure whether central coast community support any team to be honest look at the support the central coast mariners get very poor to be honest.

The Manly Warringah / central coast sea eagles I guess the life style is very similar.. As long as it is maroon and white jersey with a sea eagle emblem on it id support them no matter where they play.

Just for fun....

Great memories I was at a lot of those games. Love Brookie bursting at the seams ....

If we can keep Brookie and get the "old girl" back up to scratch then the corporate opportunities will be huge...I'm hoping that's what the Penns are thinking.

its bad enough taking 1-2 games a year up to that crappy stadium.

If you get the kind of crowds we need then don't eat or drink or piss as you miss half an hour of the game. Also get ready for my knees in the back of your head the entire game due to the rows being so close together. It was built cheap and is cheap and nasty.Only decent when half full or less.

Add to that needing to pay twice as much to sit on the side compared to Brookie

Well, still bored so here is our highest attendance against every other club that has played at Brookvale since 1947 (Manly games only, not NE):

Adelaide - 6,434 in 1998
Balmain - 25,867 in 1976
Brisbane - 25,549 in 1995
Canberra - 26,108 in 1994
Canterbury-Bankstown - 20,163 in 2006
Cronulla-Sutherland - 17,504 in 2013
Gold Coast Giants/Seagulls/Chargers - 11,635 in 1995
Gold Coast Titans - 16,887 in 2007
Illawarra - 18,294 in 1992 (Snoz's last home game)
Melbourne - 20,414 in 2011
Newcastle - 15,487 in 1997
Newtown - 16,693 in 1970
New Zealand/Auckland - 18,588 in 1996
North Queensland - 13,118 in 2005
North Sydney - 24,381 in 1993
Parramatta - 27,655 in 1986
Penrith - 20,793 in 1991
St George - 23,168 in 1978
St George Illawarra - 19,227 in 2008 (Qualifying Final)
South Queensland - 10,616 in 1995
South Sydney - 20,532 in 1988
Sydney Roosters - 23,005 in 1976
Western Reds - 12,655 in 1995
Western Suburbs - 18,056 in 1980
Wests Tigers - 17,942 in 2009 (Snake's first game of the year)

I'm guessing not many people cared too much about the Adelaide Rams @:D

Some have short memories. Manly would die as a club if it ever moved permanently to Gosford. It should only ever be seen as an interim measure, whilst Brookvale is out of service, or to stage 1 or 2 games a year. If Brooky is upgraded further, cut it away completely. The locals want their own team, not a transplanted team and certainly not ours.
Parts of the CC are Northern Beaches-like, however much of it is more like Blacktown, Parramatta or increasingly Lakemba in the case of The Entrance. I know, I've owned two properties there since the late '80s.

As long as we need 16,000 people through the gates every home game, just to break even at Brookie, other options will always be discussed.
