Fuken idiot

R u fuukken kidding. Do we ever learn?
26-20 baybee!

It must have been because you weren’t watching!

Keep up the good work by not tolerating mediocrity!

You do it on circumstance. We had gone up 12 with half an hour to go, and we have a history this season of giving up leads. As soon as I saw him sit down, my first thought was we will let them straight back in, and sure enough they start killing our middle. He comes back on, and immediately it settles down again. If it is a must that he comes off, I would have had him defending at least 3 more sets so we can consolidate a 12 point lead, or even extend it. The middle D is already weakened without Croker

Agree with your points about our middle but I reckon Seibs probably brought ‘fresh’ forwards on seeking to ram home our advantage while we were on the front foot… he then responded immediately to the threat when the drizzle scored…
If our replacement forwards step up then it is a genius move… as it was we conceded points but I still think it was the best time to rest Jake…

I too didn't bother watching last night.. I don't regret it either .. wife wanted to go out and see a band, and after the last few weeks of manly garbage I decided my time would be better spent going with her and having a good night out ..

Glad manly won, glad they showed some heart, but again, this is one of my main gripes with this team... Show up against the likes of storm and Panthers, but get rolled by useless hacks like the raiders (missing 3/4 of their spine) dragons, dolphins (with their best guys out), broncos with 3/4 of their spine out etc etc etc

Been doing it for years, put effort in against top teams and play absolutely deplorably against no hoper teams

I take your point about the annoyance of inconsistent effort/results but, to be fair, it is only two seasons ago that we were beating up on the crap teams but everyone was saying we are not a realistic chance because we could not beat a top 4 side…

So I guess that means we ARE a realistic chance now…

Seems the next step in this progression is beating a top tier team away from Brookie.

After that, consistency of performance.

I guess that means we're about half way there.

I watched the match today. Good win, although we tried to spoon it with stupid errors in the last 7 minutes, but good D at the end.

Good to Seibs is reading my posts and trying not to be mediocre 😁

That said, Melbourne were schiit with the ball in hand and so many " Manly Like " handling errors.

Hopefully we learn and get better.

Good win.

B careful with those debut game statements.
Remember Schu and Benji's best ever debut comment 😢
I was careful not to make the claim that young Hopper can be “the best player in the game”… 😉😂 (Schu has already claimed that position for himself)

In all seriousness it was a nice debut though, looked very confident and strong for a small-ish kid… but, as you rightly point out, it is ONE NRL game - the work has only just begun if he wants to turn a successful game into a successful career…

KEY FIGURE BEHIND SEIBOLD STORM OUT

We had a good giggle at Manly coach Anthony Seibold supposedly storming out of contract negotiations with Sea Eagles boss Tony Mestrov late last week.

With the greatest of respect to Seibs last time we checked rival clubs aren’t exactly banging down the door in a rush to sign him and he’s contracted until the end of 2025 anyway.

Given the Sea Eagles finished 12th in a 17 team competition last year and currently sit ninth at the halfway point of 2024 with six wins and five losses – sorry, what’s the rush? Are we missing something?

Seibold is doing a good job at the Sea Eagles and has done well in his second crack as an NRL head coach but the furphy about Parramatta having his name on a short list is difficult to fathom.

We would have thought provided Seibold continues to notch quality wins like the Sea Eagles did against the Storm in round 12 and Manly make the finals then it’s a far more opportune time to start talking about contract extensions.

Hold the phone.

If you freeze it there – THERE it is – the manipulation and the agitation from none other than the great Isaac Moses.

Controversial player agent Moses also acts as an agent for Seibold.

With Parramatta having moved on Brad Arthur and Michael Maguire a chance of leading NSW to an Origin series victory is it the latest case of Moses trying to stay ahead of the rugby league curve?

As we told you last week one very well respected figure in the game often jokes about how Moses looks at NRL clubs as like setting up McDonald’s franchises.

Moses currently has five NRL head coaches on the books including Seibold (McDonald’s Brookvale), Adam O’Brien (McDonald’s Merewether), Shane Flanagan (McDonald’s Wollongong/Kogarah), Andrew Webster (McDonald’s Auckland) and Todd Payten (McDonald’s Townsville).

No doubt he’d love to open up McDonald’s Parramatta (Kellyville) next.

The Sea Eagles have since parked all negotiations with Seibold until the end of the season which is the right call.

I didn’t want to press the “like” button,as it’s a James Hooper story, but I do agree with contents of it
