Great shot, but I stand by my half time assessment.
Wingers need to keep their width, especially against amazing finishers like Oates and Feldt. I would assume this fact is a given.
I agree that the winger follows the centre most of the time, and Des does love an up and in defence, heard it all before, but this season is time for both Jorge and Walker in Manly colours.
Perhaps you should go & show him how it’s done especially in the midst of battle ..Great shot, but I stand by my half time assessment.

Agree. Those calling for Elliot to take his spot underestimate Taufua’s tough hit ups in at the start of sets and his strong finishingHe still deserves his spot in our side. Big hard runs out of our end and always imposing on close to the line. His effort to score couldn’t have been done by many other wingers.
I think his bad decisions in defence tonight were mainly due to Walker being out of position. The felt try from the kick would have happened to most defenders.
I’m still a fan and his hands have been great this season.
Exactly. And as someone else pointed out you need some X factor out wide as well as simply bring solid. Solid might get the job done adequatdly during the year but in big games against top opposition you need players who can break open a game out wide.It is all a matter of timing with Walker and Taufua
The coming in cost us in the first half when they got their timing wrong, and in the 2nd half they got the timing correct, and cut off 2-3 opportunities for the cowboys, most notably when Walker came in and smoked Asiata just as he received the ball when they had a big overlap
It’s easy to criticise a player when you’re not the one involved in the actual act of playing. I’m not talking a shot at you mate. I know it’s your opinion & I respect that but on occasion I do get tired reading negative comments about this player & that player. Taufua, Walker, Sironen, Garrick, API seem to cop a lot of criticism yet Tom T can have a shocker & everyone makes excuses for him. As for my opinion.....I hope both Taufua & Walker stay in Manly colours for a long time!Lol ok.
Pointing out that a winger should keep his width against great finishers, such as the man he was marking in Feldt, should be the coaches job.
As per my original statement, it is hard, given Walkers wont to play up and in, and Des also likes this style of defence.
Not sure exactly what you want from me. I've given opinion, explained why the player in question does what he does, put the onus on the coach to give said player better direction against certain players.....short of taking Des's job, I'm not sure what you want ?.
Maybe I could do a Brandon Stark and warg into Tafuas body ?
