I'm still 50/50 in both the actions taken by the NRL and if Brett is 100% innocent.
I always believe innocent until proven guilty and yes Brett was not afforded this respect but like Labour with the current issues surrounding a certain politician your in a catch 22 position if your too tough or not tough enough so you can never win.
In saying that below are things that i use to weigh up the situation.
1) Correct me if i'm wrong did Manly not inflame the situation with the first findings they delivered to the NRL not long after the incident(if i'm wrong i stand corrected been so long ago)
2)Do i think the media exaggerated what really happened---Yes, do i think something happened in some drunken larrikin capacity that may have been somewhat inappropriate---gut feeling Yes.
3)My gut feeling prediction as to what a certain close person to Brett would do after the case ended feeds a more negative outlook on the situation. I hate myself for being a gut feeling kind of guy with people(usually right though) but we are human and sometimes gut instinct is all we have even though in some respects it's shallow.
In terms of Manly and the salary cap---to me you have to be one eyed to ignore the obvious---do i care if we are breaking the cap--"no" as i hate the salary cap fullstop.
In relation to crowd figures Manly supporters will come out in their droves for quality meaningful games---The Cowboys game at the SFS i doubt any Sydney team would have attracted a larger crowd. To be honest some wet and cold day/night crowds we have had at Brookie over the years with limited comfortable seating is amazing but papers only prefer to look at the negatives when it comes to Manly and crowds.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I disagree totally with your suggestion that Brett was somehow guilty of sexual assault. The court found him not guilty and I believe it was also said that he was not even drunk. Very ordinary performance to denigrate an innocent man.

Believe it was a valiant effort to not add a new thread to an already over burdened board. And while I may disagree with your thoughts they are presented reasonably so am happy to say lets disagree

My guts treat that sort of post the same way they treat a hot curry
It is amusing the amount of garbage you toss into your posts implying you are superior because you aren't a fan etc
Ignore list

01. Brett Stewart 375k
02. Jorge Taufua 70k
03. Steve Matai 240k
04. Jamie Lyon 440k
05. Michael Oldfield 60k
06. Kieran Foran 400k
07. Daly Cherry-Evans 365k
08. Jason King 220k

10. Brent Kite 220k
11. Anthony Watmough 300k
12. Jamie Buhrer 140k
13. Glenn Stewart 325k
14. Liam Foran 60k
15. George Rose 90k
16. Darcy Lussick 180k

That's around 3,835,000, leaving 565,000 for remaining contracts or around 70,625 each (which is right on the money.)
May not have been exact. Could have been +/- but the numbers add up at least. I think Brett will be closer to 300k, DCE closer to 300k & Gift maybe 280k odd, but like I say, in the end it evens out to about right.
Also consider our players have publicly stated they are taking pay-cuts to remain.
