Taking the SBW example - if NRL contracts are usually based on 12 month years, then extrapolating on SBW being paid $150k for 4 games (essentially 1 month) means if you scale it up to 12 months, his contract was worth $1.8m per annum.

Now, if the Roosters were allowed to "scale down" SBW's 4 game contract & pro-rate it, surely the space left in their cap at the time should also have been pro-rated?

I'd be very interested to know the finer details of the agreement, seeing as the Roosters also flew him & his family back to Australia & put them into (luxurious) hotel quarantine for 2 weeks as well as providing them a car.

What was laughable was the Roosters originally submitted a contract value of $130k but the NRL apparently thought it was too low, so they agreed on $150k - $20k more LOOOOL!!!

The shrewd point was appointing the salary cap auditor and one of the salary cap architects on the team to manage the cap and financials.

They know all the tricks and loopholes and how to get things passed.

1-Why did the NRL reject our application to medically retire Snake and Matai?
2-Why was our application to sign Glen Stewart on a reduced contract denied.
3-Why did we receive a two year $375k salary cap fine? Considering the FACT, we didn't spend more on players than we should have.

Yeah sure tell me how you sue the NRL and then have to continue working with them in a situation where they make and arbitrate on the rules.

Even if you win in court you pay in the long run pay back the NRL would be dishing out.

You're totally inconsistent mate - one post you're claiming the roosters have never broken the rules, the next 2 posts you're proudly spruiking the old "rules were made to be broken" chestnut & calling anyone who doesn't agree with you whiners & tall poppies.

I find it quite condescending that you accuse anyone of questioning the well-known & widely joked about limitless salary cap the Roosters enjoy whingers &/or tall poppies.
