Thought all you film buffs might be interest going to "The Fibros and the Silvertails" on Jun 19 6:35 PM at Greater union cinema in george st.

A movie by Paul Oliver it is a story of a late 70s feud between two footy teams Mnaly & Wests, it basically looks at the 1978 season. There is a write up on the movie in the Sydney Film Festival which was in SMH this week.

I saw the add for this and am keen to go. It makes it closer to home that Roy Masters taught at my school in Tamworth before coming to Sydney (Penrith initially) and gave a pep talk to a team I played in before we went out and won a State Title.

Great days they were and the hatred was intense and there were no video refs or trial by video in those days. It was so tough with knees, elbows, late tackles and all sorts of dirt.
