Just watching the souths game, 33mins in, Merritt going for the corner, slater comes flying across, makes no effort to use his upper body in the tackle and goes in knees first lifting the knees into Merritt. Not a mention from the commentators

It can't be legal can it to lead with the knees into a tackle ? Or is it just my biased eyes

Watched this game with a fair lack of interest. So for a while kept my eye solely on the Storm while they defended.

Nothing has changed down there in Martina land. Cheating tactics and grubby technique on show much of the time. Its ingrained.

I saw the Slater knees, if it was anywhere else on the field apart from a player going for the corner post I agree there would be a big controversy. We might hear more about it after the match, as happened with his feet first attacks in 2008.

Also agree with Jatz, the Storm are wrestling as much as they ever have. Which of course is a hell of a lot.

I jut looked at the replay. Did anyone else notice the left leg (boot) of Slater lead in the tackle just as Hoppa was putting the ball down over the line in SOO?

I'll give Slater the benefit of the doubt and say it was an accident. But he often seems to lead with a boot or two when tackling.
