Jorge will be marking Coates, one of the fastest wingers in the NRL. Coates is also one of the best jumpers and I expect Jorge will be peppered with bombs & grubbers all night. I think Weekes at the back & Reuben on the wing would have been a better choice.

With this selection, I've lost confidence in our chances of winning. Mostly, Des's surprise selections don't work and this could have a very adverse effect on our season.

Anyway, let's hope I'm wrong ....

Shoe is finally injury free, but you just have to look at him to see he's not anywhere near full fitness. Seriously, after 10 metres of that intercept last week he was looking for the old Shell Answer Man because he was out of gas.

It could be a ‘Lindsay Drake, Rounds 10-12, 1979 moment’. Frank Stanton broke the emergency glass, dusted ‘the Duck’ off, and he went onto be one of our best forwards against Cronulla, Canterbury and St George in that order.

Sadly he never played first grade again before retiring prior to the 1980 season. He was definitely in training though, I saw him going through his paces with the team (under Allan Thomson) at Reub Hudson Oval, early that year.

Playing Jorge makes zero sense. He's finished. Des just playing his mates again.

Surely Weekes debuts. Let's see what hes got. Koula to fullback. Coates on the wing. We need Garrick who imo is best equipped to handle him.

I'm not a coach but I would of preferred to see Weekes at the back and kept Reuben on the wing who has been very goods this year. Yes, full back is a pretty touch position to step into, especially in regards to defence but Jorge was a has been years ago and he was terrible the last time he played for us, surely we need to be looking towards the future?
