State of Origin 2023

Guys, can I ask you all an honest question? If these two players were available to you to sign for ANY club, and you could only sign one, who would it be ?

1. Bradman Best
2. Reuben Garrick

Honestly, how is Garrick never in the picture for SOO? Imagine him in that backline ! Am I just being biased here? I don't get it. He makes Best look amateur..

Garrick is a winger, that's why.

To be honest, l don't think Best is that bad an option, l think he's one of those players that will surprise us and bring it at Origin level.
I may be wrong.

He's probably 7th or 8th choice centre behind Turbo, Mitchell, Crichton, Graham, Wighton, Burton, Staggs
Interestingly only three of those actually play centre on a regular basis.
Here's his chance that he wouldn't otherwise get.

Graham is the unlucky one this year getting injured when it was his time, poor bugger may not get another chance.

ln regards to Garrick not being in the picture, l think if he can get a full season at centre then he may be in the mix especially as wing, centre, fullback cover but l'd say will go down as one that again gets overlooked.

The unlucky one to me is Alex Johnston, probs the most consistent winger over the past 5 years yet never in discussions.
Always covered fullback more than admirably when lnglis was out too.

I think NSW should have said “ **** it the games meaningless so let’s pick a heap of emerging players to give them a run when there’s no pressure “.

Freddie’s gonski anyway , so what was to lose!!

Yes a series white wash I guess but it’ll be that anyway so why not.

Agree re Alex Johnston.

I think there was a thread here a few years back about signing him at Manly (...probably "for the right money"...).

Never lets Souths down and I'm always wary of him when we play them.

Game 3 comes with a big meaning and a big statement my Good Manly Maroon feathered friend

Game 3 comes with another Superior Maroon white wash and also comes with more phycological scars pain and humiliation for the NSW blues

Game 3 is another Daunting experience for the NSW Blues . Another experience that has hunted them since the Birth of the Mighty DNA Maroon uprise

The Magnificent Maroon Leader DCE Rising another State of Origin Winning Series Shield of Honour

NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler has admitted he has no plan for Clint Gutherson in State of Origin 3.

-Sounds about right.@:D@:p

Well, to be fair, I haven't got a plan (for Gutherson),” Fittler told SEN 1170 The Run Home.

“When you're picking that last position and we had two hookers… given our luck in the first two games from the point of view from some of our injuries, they've been in the outside backs.

“In nearly most games, we've had an injury in the outside backs, so Gutho covers anywhere from five-eighth to fullback but there's no plan (for him).”

Teddy has two milestones coming up in next weeks SOO.

22 straight matches - the most for NSW, overtaking Buderus.

2nd is the most hog ( run) metres in SOO history. Teddy will make official his unofficial title of the biggest hog in history 🙂

To all the long suffering NSW blues people on here

Add this to your game three SOO Non Even

As The Dominant Maroon DNA will fade the NSW blues into insignificance once again

THE THREE -- NIL WHITEWASH IS ON ITS WAY !

I actually reckon Brian Kelly deserves a run before either of them. I was pissed off when he left manly and he’s consistently one of the Titans best each week.

Campbell Graham was the first centre that should have been picked on form yet he didn't get a look in. The origin team should be a rep team not the selector's fantasy team. The NSW selections have been very poor and are reflected in the results.

Only chance we have is because Jurbo is back

Freddy appears lost without Turbo and Latrell - those two fit and firing it is different...

Good point, picking a lot of debutants who'll just go for it could make a lot of sense, they'll have everything to prove and nothing to lose, since this game's a dead rubber now.

What is the benefit of a dead rubber?

The benefits of a dead rubber feathered friend are in the Maroons favour

The Mighty Maroons will line up all the NSW Blues Rubber ducks and use then for target practice and prepare for another 2024 SOO series win

Every picture tells a story ....
NSW Blues Rubber duckies your the one
You make the Maroons winning SOO series so much fun

Absolutely agree. He’s a gun player who has had the misfortune of signing with clubs at the wrong time for trying to win a title
