Saw a great tweet this morning , can’t remember who wrote it ( might have been Gould).

NSW played great NRL football in the first half, QLD played great Origin football in the second half.
Another Mythical Blues theory by a NSW Blue in Gould
The reality and fact is
NSW played as good as the Maroons allowed them too

Fellow Queenslanders !!!

The true believers have witnessed The Legendary and proud Maroons in Great Glory once again

The true believers have witnessed another Great resilient Maroon Victory against all the odds

It was a classic case of the Legendary Maroon Magic that lies in the Legendary Maroon Jersey
Prevailing against the Mythical NSW team of Paper soldiers who dominated the teams on paper but as history keeps repeating it self that games are not won on paper . They are won by the courageous and resilient Legendary Magical Maroon spirit on the field !!!

The Mythical NSW Paper Soldiers and everyones favourites to win the game came out full of confidence but as the game surged ahead so did the belief by the Great Maroon souls proudly wearing their Legendary Magical Maroon jersey and the more they believed in them selves the more The Mythical NSW Paper soldiers doubted their big name status and in the end were put out of their misery and out of game one

The Worthy man of the match was the one and only Legendary DCE who was also the best Manly player in 2020
These remarkable stats below against the so called leading half who played in a dominant grand final team with a dominant spine consisting of a dominant 5/8 a dominant hooker and a dominant fullback who only lost just one game this year just reinforce how great DCE is....
2020 NRL stats
Line Breaks assists DCE 17 Cleary 11
Try assists DCE 20 Cleary 17

The Magical Maroon Legend lives on
because ...
A winning history , pride and passion is on our side !!!

We need Lebensraum. We don't need to open the borders, we need to extend them.

Never gone win while wearing that Blues jersey design.
Lets put things in perspective feathered friend ..

The blues call what they wear on to the field a Jersey
The Maroons call it a shrine
That is the difference that lies in the Maroon DNA and culture and the rest is history

The Legendary Manly Maroon DCE who was born to play in the Legendary Maroon Shrine

Dear Des and Mr Humphries

We must turn this Maroon piece of cloth into a proud Manly shrine once again

Sometimes I wish I could strut around with the same level of arrogance and self entitlement to victory as nsw does, especially so when they get their butts handed to them so many times.

Everyone knows it, everyone sees it, but apparently as soon as you wear a sky blue jersey, 1 point in front with 79mins to go is "so in the bag" you can just switch off.

Well played QLD.

Last night QLD played like Manly should have if they had a decent dummy half to serve the forwards, some line speed and some willingness from players other than Jake to tackle hard.

There is still room for grinding defensive game plans based on strong middle forwards. You just have to be disciplined and have a player or two (like Turbo and DCE) to spark some attack.

But u need to take Jake out of the ball playing equation and move him to prop. DCE, Munster, Hunt and Friend all on at the same time worked. Jake stifles the attack, and he did the same for the blues

Did Jake play any differently in style or performance than he did at Manly this year ??

Sutton calls the game early... must have had money on QLD.
I just read the NRL's reason for this, which I find ridiculous.
They say that towards the end of each half the ref gets a 10-second countdown in his earpiece; something like a launch of a rocket into space.
So, apart from having to referee a game in the closing stages, which can often be frantic, the poor ref gets some clown yelling in his ear 10, 9, 8, 7.....?
Why would you inflict more distraction on the ref than a high-powered game of RL already creates?
Surely the ref can call 'time' when he hears the siren?
If this explanation is true then it reaffirms the NRL is administered by bureaucracy, piling layer-upon-layer of unnecessary rules on what should be a simple sport. No wonder the refs make mistakes. You try to make rational decisions when someone is babbling in your lughole!

OR ... should have played IF our dummy half had forwards with some line speed and willingness to run onto the ball ...

Im watching now and he spanked gutho badly.. which is brilliant mate! Doubt gutho will be back in origin. Lomax is one of the best centers in the game. Also Gagai gave wighton an absolute bath in the 2nd

This has been where NSW continue to stuff up, been consistently doing it for ages.
We hear that we have too many choices and the selectors/coach keep doing it - selecting the team with players out if position, it may work every now and then.
We picked two specialist centres in Crighton and Lomax with Cotric an experienced centre yet none of them get a start - we play a fullback and 5/8 there instead as good as they may be.
We put a running 5/8 on the bench, no back up hooker, two similar players in Crichton and Murray.
Qld went with 3 props and Hunt - he proved the point of difference freeing up Chez and Munster whilst asking questions himself.

Fittler won’t drop Wighton but I can’t see him playing him 5/8 either, Keary will be the scapegoat with Cleary given another chance.

Cordner and Frizell offered nothing but they won’t be dropped either.
All the talk before the series of trying to give most players a go will go out the window now.
How does he get Pap, McInnes, Cotric, RCG, Yeo etc into the 17?
Bennett will reward the team that got it done apart from Capewell being out injured for Holmes to come in I’d say.

The NSW forwards 2nd half was pathetic
Whats happened to Haas - had way more aggro and determination in early Bronco games....safiti and Pauli probably the difference in the 1st half seemed to switch off and that took Cook out of the game....losing Cam Murray possibly the difference in the end, though in a nutshell in s lethargic game, Qld showed more energy...

Add that to having to remember to ..

Learn and call every player by their first name .
Call the number of every tackle ..
Call players off side and advise them not to get involved ..
Call when to break from the scrum ..
Call when the defence can move up ..
Have 159,413 rules that can be interpreted 879 different ways ...

I don't understand why the refs can't/don't use jersey colour + number to call out a player... seems to work in rugby.
