In-form Manly playmakers Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans are five try assists away from breaking a record set by Parramatta many would have thought untouchable.

With Turbo's stunning 28 try assists in 17 games this year paired with his captain's 27 in 24 games, the pair have set up a remarkable 55 four-pointers this year.

Souths look beatable to me. I am surprised that the media think they are strong favourites, but I guess the souths narrative is always a strong one - the so-called battlers backed by billionaires and Rusty. It will come crashing down again this evening.
I suspect their favouritism is simply due to Souths being a top side for several years, whereas Manly, well.. you know. So they are a more settled, finals-hardened side, whereas no-one (including us) is completely sure how our guys will go. We may well blitz them, here's hoping!

I think attack and defence we can go with the rabbits all day. i think we are pretty even and we have tommy boy. my concern is the in between stuff, kicking game, control and patience. Reynolds is pretty good and where we start sets is very important in these games ansd we rarely win the end to end game unless we blow teams away

we try to blow teams away too early and are probably too inexperienced to come back from a poor start that yields the bunnies early points

my hope is that with suli playing we will use the left side more often .this side has less mistakes in it and more controlled footy. I just hope suli and tom dont get in eachothers way out there, but suli will be a great foil for tom . best to go to suli early a few times to create doubt with the havoc. with these 2 out there it will obviously make the inside ball more deadly and this might also give schuster more room than he has been getting

my preference would be for tom to play more right, for cherry to play primarily a kicking role and leave ball playing to walker , foran , schuster and tom and for tom and suli to run and run . both foran and schuster can use short sides well to a good set up to allow foran more space is very possible. early unhindered ball to huamole will help this plan and his game big time

we just need one head to be thinking about where the game is being played at all times and that has to be DCE. he will find opportunities to run and play if he is patient. he needs to simplify his game. we have the tools

even though i think we have probably overachieved a little due to assistance from the new rules ,we can beat souffs but we need to commit to the competition instead of trying to avoid the hard boring slog that semi finals are about

i would like to see this for another reason. Hate the storm, love the 40 nil. just dont want that legacy lost by being smashed by them next week by playing panic footy in the first 10 minutes

but souffs first
Reynolds is their key man , his kicking game is almost always on song , whereas ours is either on song or horribly flat.

If they win it’ll be off his boot.

However if it all clicks for us even he won’t be able to stop our juggernaut.

I have decided to do a job this afternoon, to pass the time waiting for game time. I usually try not to book jobs on Mondays or Fridays.

I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof ,the game is 10 hours away it seems so long to wait , anyway

If our forwards start aggressive and direct and keep being aggressive and direct and we minimize unforced errors I think there can only be one winner .......us !!!!

Go Manly!!!!!

Geez it's hard to get any work done today when we've got this to look forward to tonight! Without doubt we are in with a huge chance. If our middles hold their own, which will be a tough job as Souths do have a quality forward pack with some punch off the bench, I think we can win.

They'll look to limit Tom's involvement through Reynolds kicking game, so we'll need to ensure there is plenty of pressure on him throughout the 80 minutes.

reynolds was great about the riff. we need to emulate that to a point

hopefully Des has given someone the job of putting him under pressure on the 5th, Keppie?
