Sniffing at Munster?

Did I hear someone say that the rorters have a cap problem. No way, that is unheard of and totally absurd. They must be talking about us...:giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle:

If you say Manly could not sustain 4 players on mega deals (and I agree) why do you think Storm could? They've just signed Pap, Grant and Hughes to giant long term deals, and this is the reason they only offered a reduced deal to Munster (according to 'reports').
Just if their purported 3 rd party amounts of 850 k or so is still occurring or close to it , plus the marquee allowance , and 3 of their more high profile forwards leaving . Having said that, sure that Christen Welsh is on pretty decent coin as well . Still seem to be getting the odd bargain buy but their cap must be under some sort of strain if they are prepared to let go one of their premier players .

Oh boy, oh boy, oh goody! I love chicken!

Foxsports.com reporting he re-signed with Storm - rejecting a 4 year offer from Dolphins worth $5.6 mil.
Which is $1.4 mil per year.
No doubt signed with Storm for 7 or 800 thou, just to be loyal.

Isn’t it just utter bull**** today, as if he’d kiss $700k a year goodbye for 5 years.

But yes no doubt the boons will show that figure.

I think the ESL once had a system where your cap was a % of last years turnover as a club.

Well ... given he's currently considered by many to be the best player, anything under $1.1 mil per year would be highly suspicious. To say the least.

Storm could offer him anything. They've lost half their team at the end of this year. I'd be more worried if I was them than most other teams, particularly in the forwards.

Possibly the only teams Manlys recruitment has trumped this off season so far.

Yes but they have Bellamy

They've also had a very fit and healthy roster for years mate. Not sure if you saw the run of games (including one against us) when they had key injuries out (Paps, Grant and a few others) - brought them right back into the pack like would happen at most teams.

Too be fair , we had literally 68% of our top 17 squad out at some points. You could have a Wayne Bennett, Craig Bellamy, Ivan Cleary, Trent Robinson panel of coaches in place at a club, and they wouldn't have jagged wins with that.

Are the NRL looking how Melbourne can afford to pay Munster over 1mill and be under the salary cap?

3 months ago they couldn't afford to pay big $$ to Munster as they had just upgraded Hughes, Pappy and Grant to big contracts.

It's merely a coincidence that for commercial reasons the NRL is desperate for Storm to remain strong. We can all be confident in that.
