Sick of the Manly seasons derailed

Ridiculous punishment really, Nanai escapes with a fine while Olakau’atu who was pretty much there only because the maul moved that way misses 2 games.

Murray out for 2 I can kind of get, because he up & ran from the NSW bench to get involved.

How DCE was penalised for tackling Luai without the ball when Luai deliberately charged towards & into him after missing the loose ball is beyond me.

Good on Chez for giving Luai a shove & a slap, Luai’s a dog so it was nice to see Nanai smash him from behind & put him on his arse.

I’m a Blues supporter BTW, just can’t stand Luai’s grubbiness.

The thing is, this SOO series much was let go....I mean, I liked it without the whistle being blown every 10 seconds and stuff let go a little giving back that hard edge footy has lost over time, however it also opened the door for this type of stuff to boil over and personally, not just Oka but Cam Murray and the other 15 players invoved should be fined....and if they are suspended the SOO is a different animal....take them out of the next 2 SOO and leave the NRL games out of it, otherwise play this series at seasons end to save suspensions and injuries as my priority is watiching Manly.
The SOO is a great sporting event, but keep them separate as this has happened in a completely different arena (the NRL and SOO should be classified as separate events), well that's what I reckon anyways...
There's a fine line between putting the whistle away and officiating the game to be a spectacle. I actually thought contrary to most people's opinions that last night's game was a dud. Sure, it was brutal and close but the referee let too much go to the point that neither side really played 'football'. It was essentially a bash-a-thon. 5 hit ups and a kick for 80 minutes. It was the slowest ruck I have seen in 10 years.

It's also a big part of the Nine commentary team to hype up the quality of the game for their viewers. If one was to analyse the game objectively and forget the hyperboles from Joey Johns and Phil Gould, it was a dour game.

An incredibility stupid thing to do and he has let the club down at a pivotal point of the season. Lucky it was only 2 games. That is the sort of stupid stuff we see happening at Júnior level football at times and it needs to be wiped out.
Couldn't agree more mate. Two weeks is extremely light for some one, who was essentially a spectator, getting involved. The club should fine him for flow on effect his stupidity has had on the club.

If the season gets 'derailed' because one player is unavailable for two weeks, there's a good chance the season wasn't going anywhere anyway. We'll be fine.

It’s emotion , it was a highly charged event . A little dumb but remember at the first point it was like 17 Queenslanders on 2 Blue ( only for a few seconds ).

Pity about the charge , but we’ll survive.

dont carry on ....why dont you tell me to my face im a keyboard warrior, this is a forum for comment... What a childish statement
As is calling someone a dumb pri<k!!! Oh but wait that’s a manly thing to say. I’d gladly tell you to your face…..unlike you lol.

🤣🤣🤣... that's one interpretation...

Mine would be that Luai owned both of them...

They did zero damage to him with their intimidation efforts and then Jerome got the penalty over Chez (who kicked off the whole thing as an attempt to sway the game's momentum I suspect) and ultimately won the game for NSW - by burning Nanai on the outside...

Clear victory to Luai... by knockout...

I mean what was going through his head? I read that he said he was defending his teammates.... but they didn't actually need to be defended did they? No one was in danger of getting hurt out there. And even if they were its not his job to go out there.

Just really unprofessional from Haumole.

it was dumb from Oka that's on him
but nsw management should have stopped him and not allowed him to even be close to getting on the field
NSW managament dont care about Manly
Ex-Manly juniors and NSW staff members Frank Ponissi and Charlie Haggett, who should both know better (the latter retired from the NSW Police Force as a fairly senior officer), will hopefully reflect on that in the post-series washup.

Personally I don’t think Haumole is a SOO standard player.

There's a reason he is arguably the most hated footballer in the NRL...he smugness is not born from a place of competitive drive and desire, rather its a product of the hyper-masculine youth culture of greater western Sydney, of which he is a product. He's a hero in his own picture.

We'll be right...Burbo is fit and ready to go...like for like really.....

That was sarcasm ..but it has been noticeable the last couple of weeks that they're using Ola as more of a decoy runner and shifting it to Reuben. It could work in our favour if Cherry hits Burbo on the short ball this week, as I don't think GC would be expecting it. Maybe..

Well, my opinion is quite the opposite of most posting here; I agree that Haumole shouldn’t have got involved but bloody good on him for sticking up for his teammates, same as Cameron Murray getting up from the bench to help out his mates. One in, all in.
Did they need sticking up for? It was nothing more than a push and shove.

I get where you are coming from, but this isn't a situation in the playground where the school bullies are going to obliterate your mate if you don't step in.

Hahaha yeah…nah 😂

The only reason Luai got away with it was inept reffing, the bloke does grubby stuff every game.

Luai is one of those in-your-face competitors that rubs people the wrong way... similar to Latrine and Mahoney...

Chez got as good as he gave in that instance though and I suspect he thought he would get the hometown call... umfortunately (for Qld) if you play sh*t games, you win sh*t prizes...

As for Nanai... he missed the opportunity to get his hands on Jerome when it actually mattered...
