The Scumos and Parra systematically cheated by deliberately duplicating books, inflating invoices - that's the difference.
The Scumos had unregistered contracts that were 25% over the Cap.
The Eels had the same monetary amount and over 5 years as standard operating procedure.

Sharks (so far) had a one off undeclared 50k payment to a player.
Their 2017 breach sounds like the Manly TPA issue and is yet to be audited.
Why would the Sharks have to cheat on a $50k payment when they have - according to Greenturd - $500,000 to spend legally?
Nothing Greenturd says can be believed.

Considering Gorman's alleged involvement in the Shark's cap problems of those years, is it possible that this will see the NRL taking a another look at Manly for things during his time here?

We could unwittingly end up as collateral damage in something that isn't even our problem.
Yes, the NRL will fine Manly $500,000 for having the audacity to hire Gorman, and that we should have known better.

I wonder how long these dodgy deals would continue if the players stopped paying their agents their commissions on these 'deals'?

Agent: "Where's me 15%?" - (sorry I dunno what these vultures get)

Player: "Dunno what you're talkin' about. If it's not registered, it didn't happen, so no money for you!"

Be fixed overnight I reckon.

IF every rugby league official was as upfront and honest as Cronulla Sharks CEO Barry Russell the NRL would be a fairer game. That he took it upon himself to report suspect salary cap payments to the integrity unit was a move that, under Russell’s watch, will ensure the integrity of the Sharks is never again questioned.

Salary cap auditor investigates Cameron Smith testimonials
By Danny Weidler
1 September 2018 — 10:00pm

The NRL’s investigation into third-party deals at Cronulla has dominated the game this week, but there is another situation causing concern in club land: Cameron Smith’s testimonials.

We revealed a few weeks back that Smith was having a testimonial lunch to celebrate his great career and lucky fans could fork out a couple of hundred bucks to watch him be praised.

We asked if it was for charity – hoping it was – but received no response from the club, so we can only assume it’s not.

This is not Smith’s final year in the NRL. He has confirmed he will go around again next year.
Now we can reveal the NRL salary cap auditor is taking a keen interest in Smith’s various testimonials. In February, he played in a match with Johnathan Thurston, who is retiring.

It seems former NRL chief executive Dave Smith agreed to Smith getting a testimonial match and two tribute lunches before he retires. Smith’s agent has been telling clubs there are no limits on his lunches and other fundraisers. Clearly he is telling stories to rile other clubs.

When rival clubs become aware of this special dispensation for Smith, they will be annoyed. Especially those teams that have applied for testimonials for their players and been knocked back.

Since our item about Smith’s lunch, other clubs have expressed concern that this could be a way to get around the salary cap by ensuring Smith gets money outside his contract. Clubs have a huge distrust of the Storm.

We can reveal the NRL’s salary cap auditors are on the case and have already negotiated to have one of the lunches removed from the agreement. They have also told the Storm they have the power to include any funds raised from the events in the club’s salary cap if they believe Smith is being offered a lower contract than he deserves.

In other words, if the Storm have reduced Smith’s contract by, say, $100,000 because he has already secured that amount from his testimonial events, the NRL can still add the $100,000 into the Storm’s salary cap.

It’s a clear sign the NRL is angered by the deal Dave Smith did for Cam Smith.

Club bosses we have talked to are delighted the NRL is investigating the matter.
Smith announced this week that he will play again next season, which is excellent news for the Storm as he is a great of the game. But the grab for testimonial dollars says a lot about his character.

Greats of the game: Cameron Smith farewells Johnathan Thurston in his final NRL game on Saturday night.

Quell Horrer! As I live and breath ! Well I never!!!
For once a “journalist “ has called out the scam in Scam Smith ,maybe he needs the funds more than the charities to feather the nest given his alleged duel relationships
What an understatement “clubs don’t trust the storm “haha
Well done Danny now follow thru on it and expose smith , Melbourne and Greenburg for the blights on the game that they truly are

Nothing to see here folks. Move on this is just not his go. Now back to Manly and the mass exodus of players, coaches, staff, supporters and basically annexing the entire peninsula from Australia and making in another Manus Island

So using this logic, if you break into someone's place bash and rob them, but then hand yourself in to the cops, that makes you a saint - righteo, sounds about right. What an idiot he is

So I'm amazed at how quickly Turdy decided the Sharks were salary cap compliant for 2018 seeing they had no fuking idea about 2015 2017 dodgy deals. So he knows 100% they aren't still doing dodgy deals this year !?!?!?

‘Bogus’ finance loan paid for two Cronulla Sharks players

NOVEMBER 20, 2018

An NRL integrity unit investigation into the Cronulla Sharks salary cap scandal has uncovered an alleged fake invoice scam and a bogus finance loan used to secretly pay two players.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal investigators plan to quiz former Sharks boss and now Manly Sea Eagles chief executive Lyall Gorman this week about a $100,000 ‘invoice’ from a telecommunications company for equipment and services that were never used or even delivered.

There is no suggestion that Gorman, who was Group CEO at the time, was aware of the invoice or loan. He declined to answer questions from The Sunday Telegraph.
