Seibold presser ..

Whatever he says in the pressers, it ain't going to fix the fact that our key players in key positions are out injured.

And the strength of our forward pack was debatable to begin with. That was obvious before the season even started.

Much as I'd like to see us play more directly and stop going to the edges all the time, we can't win the fight through the middle with the cattle we have.

So the effort might be there, as Seibold says, but the ultimate goal (a premiership) never will be without a change to the structure and goals in our recruitment and retention.

I sometimes roll my eyes at what he says in the pressers (and also the parroting of DCE when the reporters ask him the same question Seibs has already answered), but I dare say he already knows the limitations of our squad.

I am not confident that he's the one to fix it.

And that is something that worries me far more than a sound bite from the coach at the end of a match.

Who posted that he blew up? He used it as an excuse while stating it was t an excuse. Just like last week when he talked about our injuries. There was nothing to be proud about in that Melbourne game but he was proud we won the second half. It is a loser mentality and does nothing to present Manly as a tough no nonsense club intent on becoming ruthless.
The media were saying it

Wayne hates Anthony so ... Rugby League
Yeah but Wayne and Anthony, or Spoon as I like to call him are poles apart in everything. Wayne has seven premierships for a start. Wayne has also had plenty of success at SOO and international level. Wayne is a racing stud while Tony is a donkey.

Yeh look
I don't reckon Seibold is as terrible a coach as some say
But his accountability is a cop out and will weaken the mentality amongst the players
If they deserve a kick up the ass, he is the bloke to do it and atm seems happy to accept losing and finds a way to justify it
Prefer true words
We were destroyed through the middle and need to improve here and will
This will give confidence we lost, but know what needs to happen to improve results
Our middle is about to be opened up like a can of beans next weekend. It will be horrible.

This will go on ad infinitum.

What people are saying is

"boo hoo hoo The coach didn't lose his composure like I do. If I was coach I would rip them to shreds publicly for the media to feed upon for the next week."

Of course this discounts that in publicly humiliating them more than they already were, would lose trust/respect etc with the players (and no that isn't a sign of the generation - whichever person bleated on about that, its respecting your team).

I would also suggest many of the heroes that call for Seibs to "blow up" publicly - have never managed a team (be it sporting or corporate). Its truth is shown by the amount of time they spend on these forums....

Privately is when the blow up works, it shows strength and control.

I guess if you want a coach that is a loose cannon Bellamy is your man
I'd take Bellamy in a heartbeat. "Managing a corporate team" seems a better fit for Anthony.

I don't imagine anyone expects Spoon to blow up deluxe every week. But cutting the I'm so proud bs would go a long way to appeasing macho Manly fans like myself. Oh yeah, and when we lose a starting prop maybe he might consider replacing them with another middle rather than a winger.

Unfortunately seems inevitable
They say miracles happen....well I'm not sold ..... will find out next week....
I hear you feathered friend
But Instead of focusing on the Grimmer
We should focus on the Glimmer of hope
As Hope is the last to die and we are not going out there in the Battle against the panthers to lay down and die Wondering
Miracles are made by Men who believe and Never give up trying due to their unwavering Faith and Perseverance .

Bellamy would never take on the job at a club that runs on the smell of an oily rag, he knows the value of the Storm spare-no-expense support staff and facilities.
That's exactly it. I was looking at the number of support staff you could see for both Panthers and Roosters last night on the telly. We are light years away

He can wind up and still get the ball at the advantage line. The scientific principal of 'winding up' does not dictate when the ball reaches his hands. If he can't time the run so he's winding up and getting the ball at the advantage line, he shouldn't be in FG. I am not asking him to stand flat footed at the advantage line, I am asking him to collect the ball at the advantage line.

At one point last night, DCE stood 10m behind the play the ball, Saab was another 5m behind him and Daly dished the ball off to him and Saab was tackled behind the prior ruck. It was one of the dumbest things I've seen on a football field.
Yep I noticed this on multiple occasions. It was like the defence was 5m offside.

I just noticed your signature 'let's all have a chew!'. That is some of the funniest comedy I have seen. The episode where Kramer restores the old theatre and eats the rancid hotdog that's 'been there since the silent era' is probably my favourite episode. Lloyd makes the order and the usher asks 'are you insane?' Kramer's reply is 'It's a perfectly sane food to eat!'.

I've wondered about Hales coming from a high school background. Junior football is so much different.

Then again, there are repeated calls on here to get rid of Dymock because our defence is rubbish.

Which brings me to the question: does every other fan cohort concentrate on how bad the assistants are?

Seems odd to me. I'd reckon those with Bennett and Bellamy as coaches wouldn't give it a second thought.
And those assistants quietly fly under the radar and go into head coach roles.

Haha LC. Mate prob my fav ep as well. “Perfectly sane food to eat” one of the all time great scenes! Lloyd Braun one of the great bit characters in Seinfeld. Estelle Costanza to George “why can’t you be more like Lloyd Braun!!!”

Crazy Jo Davola was another great ep. Kramer to Jerry “its Paliachi, the sad, tragic clown, like you!”

Spoon needs to have a listen to Bellamy’s press conference last night…no bull**** say it how it is .Storm players get to hear the truth.
The difference there is that nobody in that team is bigger than the club and Bellamy has no issues calling out what doesn’t meet their standards. We cannot say that as a club. I don’t believe Bellamy would have any issue cutting loose his best players if they carried on like dce. That said dce situation would prob never arise there.
