Seibold presser ..

Okay I had a look at last year to see when there was a coach having a real crack at their players in a way that most on here seem to advocate.

For context there were 213 games played so lets say there were 100 or so "loser" press conferences.

From what I could see a couple from coaches who are still employed

While there are a couple of other from ex coaches

What about Ricky?

This was the only time I could see it being reported etc.

Now lets talk Belamey. I could not see anything from last year at all

As for Bennett all i could see was this

If you look past the headline you can see it was not that much of a go

As for Ivan lets take how he is managing the first real crisis in a while

He has faith etc.

I get that people are not happy and want some accountability but that is just not the way almost every team works. They keep the criticism in house unless it works for them to either create a distraction or for some other reason.

Ultimately part of a NRL coaches job is to manipulate the media as much as possible. If Seibs had some out and said the performance was awful etc how many "Manly in Crisis" headlines would there have been this week? He is clearly trying to go as vanilla as possible to take the heat away from the DCE mess

This is Bellamy from last year (sure, he's not giving his players a bake but he is explicitly stating that what they dished up, was not good enough). He's balanced, reasonable, and honest. I think that's what people want from Seibs. He is constantly reminding us after every loss that 'it's a tough competition' and that the opposition 'are a good side' or 'premiership favourites for a reason' or that he 'proud' of our effort. I could be wrong, but I get the feeling he is carefully curating a narrative to paint a favourable picture.

Bellamy said some poor execution early in the first and second half was the reason for the loss, while praising Manly for a complete 80-minute performance.

“Our start in both halves were poor. I think the first 25 minutes, we didn’t even complete at 50%,” he said

“We showed some resilience, but you can’t start games like that and expect to win at this level.

“At stages it looked as though we were looking for the quick kill, and that just doesn’t work.

He’s been like that for the whole time he’s been here!! It’s got nothing to do with the DCE thing.

Drum roll ............

How Proud is Spoony going to be of the boys tonight in the pressr 😀

Can't wait 4 the clichés and excuses to be flowing.

Please can a reporter ask, Spoony, why did u pick a winger on the bench.

****, even i noticed that "really proud of the boys"
Seibold needs to be more of a hardarss in my opinion, even as a non Manly fans its frustrating to hear lol
And he may be for all you know. What he says in private during the week may be completely different tk what is said in a press conference straight after the game.

Spot on mate. One of the many differences between Ciraldo and our pretender is attitude. I love how he made your player who showed up to training late wrestle the boys, then basically sacked your captain for being soft. You guys are up to your eyeballs in this competition and really should have beaten us in the semi last year. The Bulldogs are a hard side full of bad men. There is nothing nice about the Bulldogs. They are ruthless and deserve to be leading the competition.

Thanks for the words mate appreciate it, it has been quite a few long winters and a ruthless clear out of the club was needed to rebuild. Early days but I'm very impressed with Ciro and especially his attitude during press conferences. I have backed Manly 3 weeks in a row with my tipping, and I usually do back them because they can beat anyone on the day but the attack just hasn't been there lately. Injuries and media saga aside, I think the spotlight is more on Seibold now 100%. I would be throwing the chequebook at Fogarty to get him to Brookvale

Coaches including the likes of Bellamy have been openly critical of their teams poor performance

Being too critical too often can have a negative affect
But so too often being proud of the way we lose . Sebolds continuously openly saying how proud he is from our loses endorses a losing culture .

Ultimately part of the NRL coaches Job is to maintain the Clubs proud Winning standards at all times

By continually and openly saying how proud he is of a loss Seibold Loses all credibility on what The Manly Way stands for

The Manly Way is the Proud Winning Way
and Not the Losing way that comes from our Woke and Weak Head coach

Big difference with Doggies is they have a TEAM of winners from top to bottom. Gould, Ciraldo and Laundy all pulling in the same direction, and of course all the players have bought into it. We have a team of individuals with sh1t egos or pulling the joint apart, and have had since 2014.

Look at the bulldogs coaching staff to ours.

Imagine us having a rebuild. Who on earth do we have to do it properly????
