Seibold Ball

Firstly will admit to not reading the attachment
But my opinion on slow line speed, be it Manly or any team, starts in the tackle
When losing the collision and opposition are playing the ball quickly, the marker is taken out and the rest of the defence is still retreating to get back onside, so how can there be line speed when the defence is still backpedaling and fighting to get back onside as the attack is coming at them ??
It's starts in that tackle and having control, which we don't

Is Seibold ball ever going to work if Spoony can't coach defence?
Jim Dymock is in charge of Team Defence.

In my opinion, he is not doing a good enough job and he either needs help or he needs replacing.

No idea why we hired Dymock. The guy was sacked mid year in his last job at the Titans when they were running last and conceding around 30 points per game, and sure enough our defence has not improved one bit since he came to the club. We also got spanked in the one trial he took charge in against Penrith’s 3rd grade team.

An insecure head coach may prefer to surround himself with incompetent assistants to keep himself safe. Effectively means we can’t upgrade from within. Plenty of other clubs have ex first grade coaches as assistants.

Dymock was a first grade coach. It could be who was available, who was happy to join Manly, etc, etc.

Just two years ago, Seibold had a premiership-winning coach as his assistant.

Interesting. But I suspect cattle rather than technique or strategy is the problem with Manly's defence. The problem is mainly only exposed when we don't dominate possession but you can't assume to always dominate possession.
Seibs said after the game we lost the physical battle so I think he knows the problem. Fixing it probably involves tinkering with our forward stocks, which we all know is the weaker part of the squad.

Seibold and Cameron Ciraldo have been coaching with their respective clubs since 2023
Seibold had started with a more competent roster
In those 3 years both coaches had the time to get the right mix of players and mould their team to their playing style . Each coach had their time To make it their own team
It is evident which coach is making a difference

The very fact is and It has proven that Good coaches make a difference and turn clubs around .
Good Coaches have the ability to improve Player development , Game plan and strategy , Leadership and motivation , Resilient mindset Culture , and Build a Winning Culture .

Our problem is the owners and not the coach. The big differences is that the Bulldogs also have Gus Gould and a billion dollar backer in Laundy. We have small wealthy owners who don't like spending money on the club or players. The Bulldogs with that financial backing can go after just about anyone they want and will be a premiership force for years to come on the other hand we'll get more of the same that we've seen for last 10 years.

100% agree, also agree with Jethro above, but lean towards he needs replacing.

I was watching him yesterday in the pre game, at one point he was playing soccer with the footy while the boys were warming up on the pads, the overall look was one of disinterest and unprofessionalism, even his personal appearance and how he looks after himself made me question his worth and that’s all before you asses his defensive structures, the teams mindset and his performance, it’s just not good enough on so many levels and the teams performance in part is a reflection of that, sadly the quality of the current coaching staff leaves plenty to be desired.

You’re like a dog with a bone aren’t you.

You’ve clearly missed the fact that Ciraldo’s bosses have thrown the kitchen sink ( and obviously much much more ) in buying some of the top players in the game , at their absolute peak , to get this success.

And before you say what will be your obvious response, understand that this club is backed by a hotelier multi billionaire and much like the Rorters , money is no object for them.

Perhaps your efforts should be concentrated on getting new , uber rich , owners for the club, and only then can we match the “ pulling power “ of these super rich clubs.

All clubs start on the same level playing field
Until The Winning ones start recruiting Winners

First of all Good Morning feathered friend I hope you are well .

You my feathered friend are like a chihuahua with full of excuses
and people and clubs that are full excuses have no credibility what so ever

You have clearly missed the fact that Every club is accountable for their own circumstances and the decisions they make and the success they create

The Bulldogs have been the Embarrassment of the league by making bad Trent Barrett Investments
But Since then they have Embarked on Greater Investments with Greater people and the Tide has turned

Whilst clubs like Manly Represented By People Like @Mark from Brisbane have been full of excuses for the past decade .

That's complete rubbish.

Mestrov and Seibold both came here with massive long-term deals for DCE and the Trbojevics already on the books, until the end of this year, and the end of next year, respectively. That's not an even playing field.

Ciraldo only had Villiami Kikau signed by Barrett, and maybe Matt Burton. Those players aren't as absent as the Trbojevics, and are on far less money.

In the press conference Siebold had a subtle dog at the inequality of the present competition when he praised the Storm as a great squad. He said they are the same squad that made the Grand Final before stating that Stefano Utoikamanu was massive for them today. Easu enough to read between the lines there.
