Seibold Ball

First of all Good Morning feathered friend I hope you are well .

You my feathered friend are like a chihuahua with full of excuses
and people and clubs that are full excuses have no credibility what so ever

You have clearly missed the fact that Every club is accountable for their own circumstances and the decisions they make and the success they create

The Bulldogs have been the Embarrassment of the league by making bad Trent Barrett Investments
But Since then they have Embarked on Greater Investments with Greater people and the Tide has turned

Whilst clubs like Manly Represented By People Like @Mark from Brisbane have been full of excuses for the past decade .
Sacking Seibold, sacking Mestrov won't change a thing. The premiership isn't a level playing field and whilst we are owned by the Penn family those glory days that you remind us about everyday aren't coming back... ever. They just aren't. We are owned by a family that simply isn't even remotely as wealthy as the owners/backers of the Storm, The Roosters, The Bulldogs, The Broncos, The Panthers ..... Unlike these other clubs the Penn family have shown they are not going to buy us a premiership. Face it, we are now a middle of the road club that is more than likely going to remain a middle of the road club until we get a rich backer.

I think Seinfeld needs to get the boys together for a venting session to get it all out about how they feel about DCE and what he has done and can they put it behind them and move on because his job will be on the line as well otherwise its Haumole at ten paces for DCE followed by the rest of the team

Storm to their credit have seemed to have done quite well with money ball or initial money ball acquisitions for some time now and particularly in recent times with their backrow and outside backs .
Plus Bellemy 's ability to somehow get the best out of them and over tome now also .
Not too different from some of the circumstances with Manly 's successful eras in 2008 and 20011 .
All clubs try and manage it and Manly and the current coaching staff of course no different right now but Storm quite legitimately have got good results fairly regularly for a while now

Brad Arthur is looking to come back to the NRL. He was great for Toovey back in 2013 and is a very good defensive coach. I believe the Penn's also share a liking to him. Get rid of Dymock and get Arthur.
Not too sure how good or not Dymock is but biggest problem defensively at present , just don 't have the cattle in certain positions to cope when under sustained pressure or minimizing bad reads .
As long as Arthur senior would not destabilise the joint to any extent , maybe not the worst option out there to improve some aspects of the defence in the future

In the press conference Siebold had a subtle dog at the inequality of the present competition when he praised the Storm as a great squad. He said they are the same squad that made the Grand Final before stating that Stefano Utoikamanu was massive for them today. Easu enough to read between the lines there.
What are you inferring re: Stefano Utilitymano?

Jim Dymock is in charge of Team Defence.

In my opinion, he is not doing a good enough job and he either needs help or he needs replacing.

That is a complete cop out and something only a loser coach would say.
Spoony is the HEAD COACH. Do u understand that?
He is responsible for the entire team - defence, attack, attitude and everything in between.
If he believes Dymock is not up to scratch, get rid of him and get someone that can coach. Here is a brainwave, how about Spoony doing some coaching?
According to you, it's not his fault but every body else????

Moneyball? Please. They have Munster, Hughes, Pappy, Grant, Coates, NAS, Katoa, Stefano, Warbrick etc. They buy elite junior talent much like the Roosters and turn first graders from other clubs into better first graders because of all the talent surrounding them. It's easier to "play a role" with rep star leaders pulling the strings beside you.

I still maintain Arthur would be better for us than Seibold.

(Just a random observation, and I'm not trying to fat shame, but is Seibold the only NRL head coach who isn't personally a fit guy? It says a lot about his own discipline and self-control, and I can't imagine a man like that would command respect from his young players as the head of an elite athletic performance organisation. I guess Robinson and Payton probably aren't leading their pre-season marathons either, but the rest seem to take their own fitness quite seriously. Wouldn't hurt his career if Seibold actually got into shape himself)

WMD weapons of mass destruction, comical

WMD weapons of mass delusion, close

WMD weak minded delirium, not bad

WMD will manly divide, probably

WMD who must depart, that’s it

Built those on the run, funny how it ended, wasn’t meant deliberately……..

Seibold and Cameron Ciraldo have been coaching with their respective clubs since 2023
Seibold had started with a more competent roster
In those 3 years both coaches had the time to get the right mix of players and mould their team to their playing style . Each coach had their time To make it their own team
It is evident which coach is making a difference

The very fact is and It has proven that Good coaches make a difference and turn clubs around .
Good Coaches have the ability to improve Player development , Game plan and strategy , Leadership and motivation , Resilient mindset Culture , and Build a Winning Culture .
Siebolds roster much the same; Ciraldo on the other has been recruiting like a rooster

Settle petal. There is no need to get hostile, sarcastic, or talk down to me.

I was only pointing out who we currently have in charge of our team defence at the moment.

Yes, I do know that the buck stops with Seibold because he is the Head Coach. No where in my post did I say that it wasn't Seibold's fault.

I only pointed out that Dymock is failing in the job of teaching our defensive structures and how to maintain them, and because of that (his failures), he either needs help or needs to be replaced.

We don't know what goes on in the background at the club that is not disclosed to us, but there might be reasons why we are stuck with Dymock, i.e. Seibold may have been given a budget by our management and owner for a certain amount, and after all that was divided up for the coaching positions that we required, Dymock was all that we could afford.

Was Seibold given more or less money for a budget than what Barrett and Des were given or even Tooves? Did the payouts for the sacking of previous coaches affect the budget too? Who knows. Really, the buck finally rests with our owner because we have had very little success since they got full ownership of the club.

That's complete rubbish.

Thank you for your reply
This is what I meant feathered friend

All clubs go through a Declining stage and a Rebuilding stage
All clubs start Recruiting towards Rebuilding
Some clubs Recruit Mediocre People and Some Winning People
Recruiting Winners is the Winning Way
No club has Risen to Great heights with Mediocre People

Every club makes it own bed
Its own Mess or Success
and Lies on it
NO EXCUSES

It seems quite obvious.

The Sea Eagles have a top 4 level set of players in their team. They should be contesting against the top sides. But they haven't been for a long while and the addition of Seibold doesn't seem to have changed that.

It's been said over and again on this site that Manly's defense is just not up to what's needed. Seibs has had long enough to correct this obvious flaw in the Manly side. Blaming Turbo's absent just doesn't cut it. The team is not operating like a team in defense. Some excellent attacking players, but consistently let down by defensive flaws.

Seibs MUST get a top aggressive defensive coach in his squad. Someone who knows how to play it tough. A Randall, Gillespie type. And a decent forward leader in the middle who demands respect. Even Menzies was an excellent defender (not often recognised).

This side has the potential to challenge for the crown. There's some damn good layers out there but they're let down by lack of defensive commitment. They will be also rans again around 6-8 if they don't turn this problem around asap.

The 1997 Sea Eagles made a grand final in a season where they lost 41 (7 tries) to 8 vs Norths.

Factor in how the NRL in 2025 is a 2x or 3x higher points scoring league than footy in 1997.

A 50 point loss in 2025 is a 30 point loss 20 years ago. A 48-24 is more like 36-18 in 1990s or 20-5 in the 1970s.

Blaming the coach or players effort or attitude is trite or unfair when then the NRL has made the game such that one team can have possession of the ball for 10 minutes straight compounded with all the biases that are given to favour the team with the ball.

Manly were made be the Washington Generals and there's not much you can do to stop it.

Fans will stop going to games if the NRL doesn't wake up. Too many blowouts and lack of contests. Imagine if every boxing bout was won in the first 3 rounds. No one would pay to watch.
