He had really good footwork and strength and in my opinion had huge potential

Barrett is a top bloke, you don't hear that kinda message from any other coach in the NRL at the moment for a player who's leaving, very kind. Usually players get the "he tried his best and I wish him the best" treatment. Makes me almost feel sorry for putting him down, at the end of the day though it's some very good news

A lot of people have bagged Williame, but when I see a guy in a Manly jumper giving 100% every game he deserves a lot of credit. There has been others who have looked a bit lethargic but not this guy.

Catalans Dragons have signed Brayden Williame on a two-year contract from the start of the 2017 season.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Coach Trent Barrett wished Brayden well in the English Super League.

“This is a great opportunity for Brayden to secure his playing future for the next two years and we didn’t want to stand in his way, even though he was contracted for next season,’’ Barrett said.

“It was a pleasure to coach Brayden and his versatility at being able to play full-back, wing, or centre was always valuable.

“I like to thank Brayden for his service to the Sea Eagles. The club wishes him and his family all the best at the Catalans Dragons.”

A Fijian international, Wiliame played 23 matches for the Sea Eagles over the past two seasons. He scored six tries in 18 games in 2016.

Interesting comparison, this send off to the one Peter Peters and co gave to Toovey.

Williame was always going to be a good back up player. I suspect the two older Wrights are in a similar position. Brayden did some good things in first grade. I was surprised by some performances. But if he wants to play top grade, his move is a good one.
