Correct. The only way we fielded that champion team was by many guys taking unders for the good of the team.
With DCE and Jake on big overs and Tom on 1.1M I can't see how we could possibly field a team capable of dominating unless we have some HUGE cash injections.

On top of that he fails miserably in most departments, hence the enormous amount of criticism that goes his way..

Anyway, point being you need the whole time firing to even have a chance, not just the half. Im just gutted we have not seen the best of this side or what they are capable of because half the side is always sitting on the side lines.

We were doing ok at the beginning of the year. Turbo was on fire. Walker was doing pretty good at 6 and levi so so. The pack was going great guns and the defence was strong and committed.He went missing big time. Just sat back and enjoyed the ride. Now they have all fallen around him and quite frankly as much as he tries hard he still very rarely takes the ball to the line. His try assist have been against weak opponenets lately in games of touch footy

A serious question.
What do you see his role as in the team as halfback and captain ?

This is where people on this forum differ. In what his role is and does he fulfil it as much as his abilities and form and effort
I often ask is he fit for purpose

I personally think he is a great leader, I feel he is Manly through and through and will never leave the club, is a very passionate player and would like him to be a one club player and i dont think there is a more heavily scrutinized player. He has had to deal with a lot of the last 10 years. The glen stewert saga, qld snub, Titans back flip, plenty of coaches and players coming and going but I still think he commits himself more than any other player week in, week out.

Not saying he is at the peak of his game, he can definitely be more consistent, better 5th tackle kicks, some better game management for sure at times, especially this year let him down a little but doing a pretty good job considering the team he is in with injuries, morale, players out of form etc.

I think he is taking the ball to the line, but he cannot do it too much, cause if he gets tackled we have no one, i mean no one to run the next play or kick?? He will enjoy having foran back to share the duties because halves need each other to help run a side and steer them around the park. When he is on, he is a joy to watch, instinctive, can play on both sides, great passing game, solid defend, fit, tries to the end but like you have said, could work on game management a little as sometimes he is 3 steps ahead of some of his players. But when he has Tom, walker faniu etc, they are on his skill level and it works!

End of the day, its up to him to lead by example every week, so he just has to be consistent with everything he does, and when the game is on the line, he has to come up with those big plays. As the half and captain he needs to demand the ball and execute most of the time. that's his biggest test if we are going to win a comp in the next couple of years, and we wont do it without a fully fit Tom either. Lets hope they both can stay on the field next year

name one? Keary, Cronk, Cleary - they are all on 1 million or were on a million and have a gun side around them, and still not always enough to win you the comp!

Can you please name a half on 400k that won a premiership in the last few years? Can you name a side that didn't have a fully stacked roster all fit that won the comp? No offence but your statements are so wrong. All I'm saying is you need a few star players on a million, a fully fit side, some rep players, some luck with injuries, some luck with refs calls and then you might have a chance to win the comp. DCE cannot win the comp by himself mate, I know you think he should cause he gets paid a million dollars but sorry, takes more than that.

Pretty sure Roosters went out and bought Cronk and Teddy to deliver them a premiership when they all ready had Keary and Mitchell Pearce, and Latrell Mitchell, Cordner, JWH . But ok, what ever you say.

I would have thought the club would have learnt its lesson that you need at least two specialist hookers in your top 36. Api and Blade Runner combined brilliantly and to have them both in the 17 was I given.
Or so I thought!

No other team in the comp has two top line starting 9s Of which are arguably on the cusp of rep selection in their 17. (Smiths at Melb excluded due to B playing 13). As much as I’d like to have kept them both it was always going to be one or the other and MF was the man. Unfortunately we all know what transpired.
