Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

"The NRL has settled its unfair dismissal case with Chris James as the Roosters recruit the respected referee to give them an edge in their premiership campaign."
So, the NRL are not infallible, who would have thought......now all they need to do is 'fess up that their case against Manly is unadulterated bull**** and pay financial restitution and they can sleep easy knowing they've done the right thing.

No we still owe them money for the match fixing investigation.

Not going to happen.

Pretty sure if you stopped 3rd party agreements it could be seen as a restraint of trade?

Geez boys, that's not how you tackle Todd Greenberg, swinging arm around the head like you've been told

I don’t normally condone violence but this bloke needs a Les Boyd cocked elbow to the jaw, Brohman style.

Greenturd cant afford to let Manly off the hook over this one, it is his integrity on the line if we get exonerated. I am glad that the club has defended itself against this and the talk from the NRL about finally doing something about TPAs is a result of this.

I think it is sad that the game is in a state where certain clubs do what they want in relation to the cap and TPAs and others struggle to use their cap.

The inequity in the game is at a record high and the myth of it being a level playing field is one of the biggest blights of Greenturds reign!!

When the inevitable fine comes through from him, we have to get on with it. This whole affair has already caused untold damage in our ability to recruit and use our cap and hindered our chances of getting corporate sponsors.

During the last two years especially, the silence from the NRL has been deafening when these damning allegations of match-fixing were front and center and our club was smeared un mercilessly. It is so disappointing that the CEO of the game has not a kind word for our club and showed his contempt for our club and culture when he lured Hasler over to the Dogs while we were in the process of winning the 11 competition.

In a perfect world, this salary cap witch hunt that has dragged on for so long could be the noose around Greenturds neck if we were exonerated, hence he can't afford that and we will be sanctioned regardless.

I think like most of you out there, we just want to focus on the football and our up and coming young team, I just wish we were able to start a season without one hand tied behind our backs and have that level playing field.

One thing that Greenturd will never be able to touch is our clubs spirit and will to win. During the dark times, our club has shown its resilience time and time again and now is another time where we have to dig deep against an NRL led Greenturd era where our club is shown no respect!!!

The game is crying poor monetarily. Yet they found a way to pull 100's of thousands of league dollars out of the game, and syphon it into one of their "own" commissioners pockets.

That wreaks of corruption.

Now, if Greenburg is found to have paid that commisioner all these hundreds of thousands, yet not find Manly guilty, how would that look?

Greenburg HAS to find fault, else he's ruined for corruption. The media already know about these under the table payments to their own employees, yet seem not to care about it.

I have written to The Australian Sporting Commission, and they promised they'd investigate. I've written to Buzz Rothfield, and he ignores me. Just seems like a prickly pear no one seems to want to touch.

Because of Greenburgs's corruption, he HAS to find guilt with us, or his "transaction' with that accountant on his board is very, very suss.

The part that stinks is Greenberg has said that there is no money to bail out any club that can’t sustain itself financially. So here is Manly a privately owned club doing the best it can to make ends meet to fulfill the requirements of the licence.

Instead of the NRL defending the owners and the club to protect them from further financial losses defending themselves, they stay quiet and offer nothing other than throw away lines that “the clubs only have problems but offer no solutions”.

Here is a solution the the problem Todd, protect the code and the people that pour their hard earned into the club to give you a competition to sell to the broadcasters.

Parra systematically and crimainally rorted the cap for several years and Todd comes out and offers the fans apologies and to stay strong.

Yet an old lady that pays a TPA and gets invited to the sheds after a win is cause to stay silent and stick the boot in whilst holding us down and
handcapping us for the -$1M we had last yr and again preventing us from being able to offer players contracts to fill the roster.

How sick and twisted is this bastard amd one day he will get his and i can’t wait to sit back and watch him suffer. Might not happen in the next couple of yrs but things always come out in the end.

If the club wasn’t planning to stick it to the NRL they would have copped it and moved on. The fact they have denied everything after 2 extensions to the deadline means they have something big to negotiate with. Penn has deep pockets but wouldn’t br risking a bigger sanction without a good reason.

Sorry for Sunday rant ppl but seriously makes me sick.

We all know that this witch hunt has been a greenturd driven agenda but is it solely up to him to make the final decision/outcome, surely others would be included in that wouldn't they. Do the findings/outcomes not get run via the commission. I know we all feel like we are being subjected via a dictatorship but surely it cannot be left up to one individual to decide the outcome - can it?

Sorry for my ignorance but aren't people who sponsor players permitted in the dressing rooms after a win or on club property? Surely there is more to it than that.

They aren’t (supposedly) allowed to get ANY benefits directly from the club, but can use the players they sponsor outside of the club and colours for advertising/promotion.

You’d think not but nothing would surprise me. The game is a basket case atm

So how does the NRL account for the money earned by Smith & Thurston for their testimonial? Is that not a TPA? What about the cash war chest the NRL has to pay players extra to stay in the NRL? Is that not a TPA? If that money is readily available for 'special' players then why are TPAs such an issue? So Smith & Thurston can decide to play a game outside of the NRL & reap the rewards & that's OK & then player X can say he's leaving the NRL for Rugby & the NRL pays him extra on top of his contract so he doesn't leave & that's also OK, yet a club can only pay a player what the NRL deem is his value? I'm confused...........

Absolutely no reason to be confused, as long as you understand the premise that there’s one rule for the favourite clubs and another for the rest.

When you’ve got that in your head it’s all understandable!!

My feeling is that if our owners have sufficient proof that we've done no wrong, whatever egghead thinks or wants to do he cannot do, we are in the clear and it's time to turn the tables on these bastards and claim compensation for damage to our brand and for restrictions to our ability to trade in the open market, screw these mongrels for the treatment we've received!!!!
