He had the likes of Tolu Koula and Terrell May in that team. It's not like he was playing with a terrible injury depleted reserve grade roster... In 2021 we had very few injuries.

He certainly could've done a lot better than that. If we're going to get a coach, one of the main recommendations going around through the coaching sphere is that they should have experience with U'20's, reserve grade, etc. You can't just be an assistant coach.
Look man, I know you had high hopes for Seibs and advocated strongly for him to be given a fair go but his time here will likely go down as a big failure. Des did better than Seibs and was unceremoniously booted out of the place. We will need a replacement soon. Is Matty Ballin the answer? I don't know but with the right team around him it might work. Nothing is guaranteed in football and failure is more likely than achieving the ultimate success. I don't think we have improved under Seibs and his recruitment while here can only be described as well below par.

The coaching department needs to be jettisoned and rebuilt. That can’t happen at this stage of the season. But decisions need to have been made and actioned by now so the rebuilt can be completed before the pre season. We need to be blooding the young stars by giving them a taste of first grade before next season. 2026 is done and dusted for us.

I don't know if Boldy is to blame for our dumb tactics in the wet, but certainly DCE and Brooks should know that you score tries in such conditions through opposition handling errors -- short kicks, challenging kicks in the air -- not trying to outpace them on the wings as if it's a dry surface.
Walker gave our two most experienced players a lesson. It was dispiriting to watch, but reinforced my belief that Brooks should follow DCE out the door.

Seibold should be allowed 2026 to prove himself because next year is the truly enormous change in the club, the first time without DCE in ten years. DCE affected our golden generation to the point where there was nothing to follow. His position at the centre of our team and as sometime captain cannot be underestimated in establishing and maintaining the culture of the place.

Next year Seibold has an entirely different landscape to work with: no DCE and more money available.

He understands the club, the culture, and the personnel much more than he would have initially and, while there really are no other options, he should be given this chance.

This is a bit like the Parra situation a couple of years back.Club wasn’t confident Arthur was the man,but they gave him about 10 Rds to turn things around. But things didn’t improve and the rest of the season was just a waste after they sacked him.In the meantime, they missed out on offering Bennett a meaningful contract because they stuffed around with the Arthur decision. If you’re not sure on a coach,it probably means he’s not the man for the job

Perhaps it's ALL Seibolds fault?
But when the game is on the team captain is in charge.
There's so many moving parts to a F.G. teams prep, that there could be many situations/injuries that supporters are not made aware of.
If anyone knows what's happening for certain, then it would be interesting to hear.
To blame one person coach or player for a loss (or a win for that matter) is just not reasonable.
Go Manly!

Not sure anyone is saying it’s solely Seibolds fault. Plenty of criticism for certain players, penn and mestrov on here as well. But like it or not, as a coach in professional sport, you live and die by results.

I'm rather sure the buck stops with Mr Fluffy and

Matt Balin liked this insta post. Might mean nothing.

Siebold is stuck between a rock and a hard place considering he won't have an opportunity to build a roster of his own until 2027, if he can last that long.
How long do you think it takes a coach to build their roster?Obviously more than 4 yrs, according to you

Just feels like we have gone backwards slightly, or at best plateaued. Our D needs a lot of work. 40 put on against us by the Dogs and likely another 40 by Chooks if it wasn't wet. I don't think it is just Siebold - we also basically have the same asst coaches and I think we need a change up here as well. Chad Randell is the Dogs defensive coach, Josh Hannay continues to build his reputation. In addition, need 2 or 3 first graders. A prop, 2nd rower (would love Fermor) and possibly a hooker although with Simpkins and hopefully Zaidas coming through may not be as big a priority.

He has already publicly stated that he doesn’t see himself in coaching by then.

Anyone who thinks sacking just the coach , and leaving everything else in play other than a new coach and expecting different results has got rocks in their heads.

From the start I’ve never said I was Pro Seibold.

I’m ambivalent ( still ) as I don’t think our issues are all related to him, some for sure , but it’s the complete system , including coaches , owners , AND players.

Let’s face it, other than one spectacular Tommy year the last 15 have all been rather the same.

We’d all love to be successful again, but I think it’s going to take a lot more than a coach sacking to get to that point.

Sacking the coach can change things,if your next appointment is the right one.The last 15 yrs have been blighted by wrong coaching appointments. Those decisions come from the powers that be,but appointing Barrett,Des again and Seibold were all obvious wrong moves that I’m sure most of us Manly fans could see were bound to be failures.Im even dubious about Tooves appointment given he hasn’t managed to find another NRL head coaching position since. Look at the Dogs and Ciraldo.Granted they have the brilliant league mind of Gould in their corner(no matter what you think of his public persona).Warriors/Webster are turning things around and there will be a close watch on Parra in the coming years

Based on what has already been said by the club, I’d say the most likely scenario is for an offseason announcement that next year will be Seibolds last one in charge, and that Ennis will take on a full time assistant coaching role in 2026, with a view to taking over in 2027. Seibold to move into some director of coaching/football dept type role. Ideally, the announcement would also include some wider shake ups of the coaching dept, with perhaps someone like Ballin brought in as an assistant, for greater succession options.

The only other avenue they could take would be to blow the place up and start again, but I don’t see much appetite for that.

That will not be happening
