Hart to push for a backrow spot , wonder if he could be transitioned into a 13 but does look more a natural edge type player

Are reports correct manly had discussed ~750k with DCE, which shows market value if Roosters offered 800k.

Easy for me to say in hindsight, but imagine DCE for another year or 2 even at 750k.

Im unsure if true that dce got his nose out of joint because of that offer from manly, but Seibs and the club at least did not feel obliged to offer him overs just because of his time here and being captain. Perhaps it was hoped DCE would not accept or they thought it was a fair offer.

The same mistake was made with turbo/turbo, and atleast the club sees this overpaying has to stop.

Absolutely not. Recruitment is about getting the best players you can to fill the most needed positions with the money available to you.

The failure here is all on Seibold.

If you had to choose between losing your forward pack and losing your backline, I'd choose losing the backline.

Having crap backs will limit your points, having crap forwards means you can't even get into the contest.

I didn’t say that,they may very well,but they soak up $2 million or a bit more now,so it’s not a hell of a lot of extra.Its only a lot of $$ now due to their form.Tom comes out next year and gets anywhere near his best and it’s a bargain.Obviously that’s a big if

They changed the rule in 2018,but it was changed to stop teams from paying below market value for the first year of the contract.So in essence,if a player is said to be worth a million with the NRL’s idea of market value,a team can’t pay $500K for the first year and $1.5 million the last year,just an example.Whilst the Trbjovic’s will get a pay rise next year,it’s not exactly a massive increase that cripples the cap.If there’s any issues,it has more to do with what the...
