I've come across several reports suggesting that Seibold will remain next year. I'm finding it hard to understand, as we've lost three games in a row multiple times this year, and we're currently on a four-game losing streak that could extend to seven. I've seen coaches sacked for way less, he must have some dirt on Mestrov and Penn.. This guy somehow is untouchable

You’re not Robinson Crusoe - we all find it hard to understand. Even Seibold has said he doesn’t want to coach. FMD.

Or Penn doesn’t want to stump the money

I think our injury toll will be what saves Siebold. To be fair to him - most clubs would struggle if you took out most of their first choice forward pack.

The problem is that this is also masking the bigger issue - that the players who are fit just aren't performing.

Essentially though, we had one prop, one second rower, Bully on the bench, and Jake. No hooker, second rower, starting prop and a couple of bench forwards.

Seibold's roster building is third only to his game strategies and motivational abilities.

I have a feeling Seibold is sticking around to ‘protect’ whoever is assistant coach next year. It’s going to be a Sheens & Benji situation IMO. Assistant will be learning on the job while Seibs takes all the heat.

Interesting. Makes a lot of sense but I don’t get the feeling Seibold has the grit or desire to play that role.

What may of saved Boldy was adopting an 'eye to the future' approach. The injuries gave him the chance to promote youth, but he was too scared which is why we have a forward pack of aged plodders. We probably would still have lost the last four matches, but if we'd had 3-4 young guys gaining experience at NRL level then it would have given us hope for a more successful 2026.
His 'no risk' selections have backfired and our future is dire.
While it is too late, Boldy should be making wholesale changes for the last three rounds. Let's see if he is a real coach or just a mumbling drone.

I emailed to stop the auto renewal the moment Turuva went over following that double movement from Talau. Doesn’t mean i won’t continue in 2026 but i won’t accept the on field performance by rewarding the club with automatic memberships until there is a change as the way it’s travelling it’s unwatchable. If Penn, Mestrov etc are looking at the off field metrics as a benchmark for success then there needs to be a circuit breaker somewhere.

Souths have had far more players out due to injury and they are only 1 win behind Manly.Manly have basically had a full backline to pick from every week. That tells you all you need to know about the respective coaches

No hooker?Id suggest the loss of Croker has actually done Seibold a favour
I was talking about the players we have in the 30 who are decent. We haven't had a capable 9 in forever. That's why I talked about roster building

The current Trbojevic deals totalled more than $12 million when they were signed in 2019 under a previous Sea Eagles administration. Both were back-ended most heavily in 2026, the final year of each deal.

Along with Cherry-Evans’ seven-figure pay packet as captain and one of the game’s elite halfbacks, Manly’s salary cap configuration is the closest to that long-adopted at Melbourne.
Maybe these are the reasons for our poor recruitment the past 2 years?

Old blokes with no legs?

Nah. The reason is finger crossing fear of job loss, achieving KPIs, not having confidence in any ability to take a young player and grow them.

Seibold couldn't spot talent if Steve Matai tackled Cliffy Lyons right in front of him.

You don't think a looming back-ended contract of $2.4m for Jake & Tom in 2026 has anything to do with the quality of recruitment we've had the past 2 years?

Given that the club have also re-signed Olakau'atu, Garrick & Saab, upgraded Lehi as well as continued to pay Schuster during that same period?

Oh that's right, it's all Seibold's fault (not Des').
