Round 10 2022 v 2023

Well here we are in round 10 and I think its fair to start to look at comparing 2023 to 2022 and make some observations on how we are going.

I think its fair to say given how many see 2022 as a complete chit show failure 2023 has to be put down right now as a massive disappointment. Sure the team may go on a run but something fundamentally has to change for that to happen.

Tom missed more matches in 2022 by round 10 but both last and this season have been major disappointments regardless of games actually played.

We scored more points by now in 2022 but also conceded more for a points differential of 6 better in 2023.

The big issue is really is 5/8. With old man foran at least we had a left side attack. Missing the shoe most of the year has been a huge issue as his backups are very poor.

Look like Seibs has a lot of work to do don't you think?

I'm not sure why but it feels like we have been stripped of all the shape in attack that created so many tries over the past 4 seasons.

Tom is no where near as effective even down on form without our once were sweeping backline plays. When he gets the ball now there seems to be 15 defenders waiting for him because the guys inside haven't done their job.

As much as I do like Jake in the prop rotation Aleo vera in 13 is a huge problem. He just isn't a link man and with hands like feet we look so slow and clunky.

When Jake was there he was 1000 times better than JA.

Quite similar so far.
But I expect the rest of this season to go significantly better than the last part of 2022.
